I mentioned this in another thread, but i think for the sake of the game it needs its own?.
I was up early this morning, so i thought i'd take a look at some of the games i'd been losing away from home?(have'nt lost at home in nearly two seasons, deservedly so too!).
Away to Blackburn i had to watch as Defoe put 4 goals past us, having led 2-0 and 3-1, okay he is having a good season but its the way he got his goals that bothered me.
Goal 1 - With both players running for a loose ball, he outpaces my fullback Faubert(18 acc and pace) compared to his(acc and pace both 15).
Goal 2 - Jumps amd wins a clear header against my DC Christopher Samba(height 194cm head 19 jump 20).
Goal 3 - Innocuous penalty.
Goal 4 - Ferdinand has a clear head start running for another loose ball, but as soon as he reaches he stops dead for about 2 seconds, time enough for Defoe to catch up nick the ball from his feet and go on to score.
Even a home game in which i beat Chelsea 3-1, i could not believe how many times Terry outpaced my striker Briand(acc 18 pace 17) to balls they started chasing from equal distances away?.
These are not just one offs and there are plenty of other very noticeable things too, anyone else noticed just how many times your keeper will palm away a shot from distance straight to the only opposition player in the box surrounded by 4 or 5 defenders?, even taking bad luck into consideration, any decent keeper would be making sure he palmed the ball out for a corner or at least out of harms way?.
I can understand all the dodgy passes and everything, i watch more than enough football to know this is part and parcel of the game, but the other stuff is just completely spoiling the matchday experience, which is why i just cannot put myself though the torturous task of watching games?.
Know exactly what you mean. Fliping Bernado corradi outpaced Toure in on my matches. wth is up with that? And I agree with the keepers, not matter how many players you have in the box, it will be palmed out to the opposition, whilst when the Super AI keeper palms it its hacked out straight away.

Ok, I've not really noticed these things since the patch but that's mainly because I'm playing in the Blue Square North and everyone's rubbish.
That doesn't mean there isn't a problem but I'd like to offer possible reasons for why some of these things might happen.
Goal 1 - Defoe may have better anticipation and positioning than the defender in question giving him a headstart in knowing where the ball may end up and therefore being able to leg it in a straight line towards it. Or the defender may have been in an advanced position of the ball so he had to turn around to chase it whereas defoe was facing it and could just sprint straight towards it.
Goal 2 - How can you tell he jumps and wins the header? The ball may have been 5 foot from the ground making it the perfect height for defoe to get to. There's no way to tell.
Goal 4 - Fair enough, this one just looks like an annoying glitch. However, does Ferdinand have the 'tries to play his way out of trouble' preferred move? If so this could cause him to dally on the ball and try and take it round defoe, in turn allowing defoe to steal the ball from him.
Or I may be wrong and none of the above scenarios is true. The problem is that it's too hard to tell when looking at the 2D match engine, anything could be happening to be honest. But the above are some reasons as to why these things could quite realistically be happening.

There are different factors to look at:
How up for the game was Faubert, when did he start running, how fast up his pace was he/ How much more determined was Defoe to get the ball?
How much did your centre half want to win the ball, when did he start jumping, when did Defoe start jumping?
Thats maybe just one of those things, a lapse in concentration/mistake etc
Terry is one of the worlds best defenders....
Remember - if all the players with the better stats one these confrontations all the time the game would be pretty boring.
Aberdeen played Athletico Madrid in the Uefa cup last week - a complete mismatch. Yet Ricky Foster outpaced their right back time and time again (and the Rb is meant ot be quite a pacy player - Foster is a below average player compared to him). Ritchie Byrne is a £30k former electrician and he still managed to outplay the right back from La Liga as well.....depends on how much you want it I suppose.
Goal 4 sit.-It does not appear to be dallying though it seems that either the defender is just stopping or is being blatently pulled back by the striker who then goes on to get the ball first.
sit 1.- Have seen this as well. Bendtner (pace 15, acc 13, drib 14) time after time outpaced my defense whether he had the ball or was running on to it. No such problems with Walcott in the same game. Stragely Bentner was substituted at half time despite being their only goalscorer, the only one giving me any trouble and having very high condition.

They both ran towards the ball at the same time, Defoe(antic 16 pos 8), Faubert(15,17).

The text read "Defoe gets above Samba to win the header".

He has no preffered moves.
