The way to go is have a list of options like
Division News
Division Transfers
Division Awards
Then those 3 for the Nation you're playing in, then Continental options.
then you can choose what you want to see.
(Obviously there would/could be more options avaliable, but those were off the top of my head)

Exactly, something like a subscription system I mentioned in this thread.

| At the minute, it's very black and white. If it directly involves you, you get the information. If it doesn't, you won't, and with very few exceptions.
This means that there's no real way of having natural information filter down to you. I don't have to be constantly checking Italian news to know who wins Serie A, because in real life the BBC tell me.
Ideally, every news item would be very quickly rated before being filtered around. The rating would depend on how important the news is to you or your team, as well as how important or interesting it is globally. If I'm managing in Brazil and Milan sign Rooney, I want to know about it. Similarly, if Mexico tonk Montserrat 23-0, I'd like to hear about it too, because it's funny and therefore interesting.
The stuff that would be filtered would be that which is neither major, nor interesting. East Bengal have won the Indian league again, you say? I'm FC Dallas manager, so why should I care?

It's not the same thing, no. Major information should filter naturally, not be sought. It's ridiculous that the only way to find out who won the European Championships, for example, is to go and look at the competition history. Such matters make themselves known without action on your part.
Besides, it's a game, and anything that can make the experience more pleasurable is a good thing. That's why we have the ability to select and act upon multiple players at once, or why the drop down menus at the top don't take you to myriad screens just to reach your chosen competition.

Not much to add to the previous posts. I agree that one feels isolated from the rest of the world.
Either News and Inbox should be in one or there should be a preference to choose this

Could you not catogorise news items and let the user decide what goes in there primary inbox, what goes in other news and whats ignored completely? Makes sense to me, if the user had control over this we could tailor it to how we like it.

Put them back together.I miss part of the fun as it is now.Yes,I don't want to know EVERY little detail but then again this is still better than not knowing that Inter have bought Messi or that my direct rivals are going in administration.
Obviously the best way is a filter managed by the user.Start with all the news included and we choose which type we don't want to be brought up as they show.Something like the spam mail thing as mentioned above.

I like the fact they've been split up. I'm managing in the lower leagues, and don't need to know all sort of stuff that's going on in the higher leagues. It's nice to only get news related to my team. The old way we have to click through tons of pointless messages. Now that is gone. Me happy |

Ye put them back together. It kills some of the fun when you don't know for 3 months a major transfer in a different league has taken place.
I also want to know when a coach in any of my playable leagues is sacked and then itd be nice to know when they are replaced and by who.

Ter,
Two ways to to here:
1. Just allow new preferences where you either globally split news (as you've implemented it currently), group everything together, or specify by category what news you want in what box.
2. Split-screen. (My vote). Keep the separation in news as you have now but split screen them so people can still see all the news in a single page. That way they can either read through the league news or not.
You'll also have to think about tabs and/or filters or some other way to go through one league's news vs. another's vs. world news, etc.
Cheers.
