Doubt they will change it in 8.02 (which we still don't know will be coming) since this is FM08, and this rule is for '09.

But I'm sure it will be in place for FM09 ...

I think it will be better if it was in the new game (09), as SSGTroyer said, the rule only comes into place next season, and this game is meant for this season only.

it would be hard to implement in the game via a patch it's better that it comes with fm09 it's better that way

Competition rules are hard coded so it is very unlikely to be changed in a patch.

No rule changes or changing cup frmats can be implemented in a patch.

FM09 it is I'm afraid.
