Default Manager Rep/Job Offers

Afternoon Folks,

I was wondering what it takes in order for Manager Reputation to increase?

Can you increase manager rep without winning anything?

How long does this take?

For example. I am currently manager of watford. My career so far:

Season 1 Championship: Finished 2nd

Season 2 Premiership: Finished 11th after board wanting me to avoid relagation

Season 3 Premiership: Won Euro Vase, In the later rounds of Euro Cup, currently sitting 8th in Feb and in the 5th round og FA Cup.

I would consider this quite an achievement with Watford but my manager Rep in only National and i don't seem to be moving up at any good rate. I would love to move to a bigger club, Newcastle, Spurs or even abroad (France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy or Scotland)

What do i need to do?
Is it best for me to resign?
Is my Rep good enough to get a bigger job? There are only 6 continental managers in england and thats the highest?

If anyone has any experience in this type of scenario it would be great to here your thoughts.

Thanks

I think but im not sure if you make an appearance in the champ league and win a few games that will do wonders for your rep!!

i think it's hard to gain more reputation without winning something or promotion

in your case you got your national reputation because promotion then nothing happened despite you manage to secure 11th on the table

so try keeping good places on the table like 5-8 (for a couple of seasons) or win something

I realise that winning a Cup will increase my Rep. But its not that easy with Watford.

Are we saying that i might be in my 5th/6th Season with Watford before i gain a Rep of Continental unless i win something? I am growing more frustrated with my broad as they never seem to back me with big money even though they think all my previos signings have been very good. I don't believe i can achieve any higher than 7th/8th in league.

It also doesn't help getting drawn against Liverpool Away in every bloodly cup round. Does my head in.

I've been having trouble getting a job as a club manager... I'm currently the England manager. Have a record in unbeat matches for Engøand (36 consecutive matches) won the Euro cup, won the Confederations cup and won the World cup. Currently easily qualifying to Euro Cup in 2012.

However. Inter manager lost his job, so I applied. Then I hear Frank Rijkaard got the job. Ok.. I thought and applied for Barca (since he came from there) Ruud Gullit got that job. Fine I thought, I didn't want to apply for a dutch club so I went to the prem to see who was struggeling.

To my surprise my favorite team ManUtd was struggeling down in 12th and the manager Steve Coppel hadn't brought in a single player since joining and had sold the following of Fergie's men:

Evra (honestly what the hell? no replacement either)
Pique (what? WHY?!)
The entire youth squad (well I can't blame him)
Giggs (4k to some random club, no respsect..)

With a disasterous lineup and a Foster who was rated worse than Robinson, Green and James (james was 36 or something at the time) by my italian assistant manager, they were clearly falling behind. Not only that. But with Tevez and Rooney in the squad he opted to go with Saha as a lonely striker.

I thought this had to end and reported my interest in the job. The next day I recieved a notification that the Glazers were very happy that I've declared my interest and wanted to sign me as a manager as soon as possible. They were thrilled that the experienced world cup winning manager would manage their club and said they wanted to fix a deal within the next few days.

I waited two years, nothing. I check the tables again. ManUtd is mid table and struggeling against the likes of Villa, Tottenham, Fullham (to my surprise my fm rivals (I always lose to them in FM) are bloody well on 4th place), Reading etc etc. To my horrors Liverpool is in the top 3... (after they got rid of Rafa)

What happened there? Firstly. Winning what I can win as a national manager, why did Inter and Barca reject me? I was named as the favorite to take over the clubs even.
Second. What happened to the ManUtd board? They suddenly decided mid-table is good enough? They suddenly decided that the 17th best manager in europe ever is worse than the 240th? I'm confused...

Sorry for the long post, just a little frustrated i can't get to manage my favorite team even though Glazers want me...

Can you be approached to take over a club without applying for the job?

Also if you want to apply for a job is it best not to be employed by a club? Should you resign and take the risk?

You can be approached, but I haven't really been aproached by any clubs that tickle my fancy.

Napoli, Sunderland (I was ascctually quite interested but decided against it as I like Roy Keane), Parma (decided against it as Glazers expressed their interest, never heard from them again) Inter said they were interested and that I was the top candidate, but decided to go with Rijkaard. Also some spanish Segunda club wanted me (go from England to Segunda didn't sound like a good swap)
