Yeah, there are some other issues there, obviously, and the first of those is failure to compare offers "in context", which has long been a problem.
I'm more concerned by the "lack of squad sense", honestly, e.g., the willingness to sell the only GK on the payroll "if the offer is right", rather than insisting on having a new GK lined up before agreeing to let the old one go.
Its the same problem, really: each offer is evaluated "in a vacuum", with no thought given to previous or concurrent bids.
That doesn't mean the bids aren't evaluated with the level of sophistication that I'm suggesting, though.
