They all moan that I choose a (very reliable, and probably best) defender as captain, he then felt pressure as he is just 19, and others have moaned about it. So I swapped it to my striker who was having a strop about not being captain, and now half of them think i changed captain too quickly, the player himself that I replaced is considering leaving, and the other half are delighted about the new captian.
Come on he can not moan about being captain and then get annoyed because I replaced him.
How long will it take for these lot to forget about the new captain situation?
If you thought he was the best man for the job, you should have the courage of your convictions and keep him there.
I think your players are quite right to be annoyed. You're messing the around and showing no leadership skills, instead just swapping captains because the team don't like your choice. Who's in charge here, you or them? You've undermined your own authority and they're now rightly losing confidence in you.
True, doing it again I would have stuck with the one I picked (the 19 year old). But I thought the fact that he was feeling pressurised and the fact that most of the team were not happy and thinking they could do a better job (yes I really want to pick a 33 year old backup player....) that it might be best to change but that just causes more problems. I am understand why though. Most of them have forgotten about it after I started the league campaign with a 1-0 win (short memories these lot!) but the player himself still isn't happy, and a few others are still chipping in with their views. Anyone know when they will forget about it?
Interesting that the player lists me as favourite person (due to picking him in the first place) and I have not been removed from that. He will be captain soon though, as soon as the current captain leaves (will probably retire at end of this season)
