i just want to ask a question, iv just read a post regarding someone saying that 2 players were must buys nothing worng with that right? but then he gets slated and told where to go, hes in the wrong forum and all kinds of stuff!! now correct me if im wrong but this is a general discussion which surely means anything and everything about football manager? yes we have individual forums but this is a general discussion about the game including, tactics and good players? i just think we have to many people in here thinking they own the forums, one last little moan to all the people who are moanin about the game and that its full of bugs or whatever just remember it actually is only a game?? im expecting someone to pop up now and encourage me to post in the right forum if im not in it already?
general discussion usually means to discuss anything in general so surely he can post wot he wants?? some people in these forums and i dont mean you cliff need get off there high horses thinking they own these forums, makes me laugh really, thank you for ur reply
Personally, I don't want to learn about good players; part of the fun of the game, for me, is "discovering" them on my own, not signing them because I saw their name on the forums. However, I do like to contribute to the general discussion about the game: new features, problems, ideas, etc.
Jimbokav doesn't like to learn new players OR get detailed tactical advice. He, too, likes to contribute to the general discussion about the game.
I avoid the Good Players forum; he avoids the Good Players forum and the Tactics forum. We both like to contribute in General Discussion.
The SI developers like to be kept informed about problems - but its a lot quicker and easier for them to find them in the Bugs forum than wading through every post in General Discussion.
So, if you think of "General Discussion" as "The place to discuss everything that doesn't have its own specific forum," you'll have the right of it.
Apologies if you ran into somebody who was heavy-handed about it - usually a polite "Try posting that in link-to-forum" suffices, but occasionally you get people who are rude about it.
Who cares, to be honest, some people need to relax a little, this is basically just a fan site for a very very popular game, and fair point, general discussion surely means anythin and everything

What he said
The sad truth is, these forums form a larger part of some people's lives than others and absolute order must be observed at all times...even if it means being rude and patronising to it's newest members
ok so maybe i cant post anything i want about fm in here, but surely when someone does make a mistake there is no need for the response he got!! after all this i would just like to say i love football manager i have bought them all since 05 and will continue to do so until sigames decides thats it! i love the game!! thank you!!

Perhaps it should be renamed "The forum for posting things that you've tried to post in all the other forums but have realised that there isn't a specific forum for it already" forum instead?
Personally, I think "General discussion" is catchier. 99% of people can get the hang of what goes in here quickly enough, even if they make a few honest mistakes when first joining. The other 1% can't do what they're supposed to no matter what you name the forums.

That's why it's separated in to different forums, so the general section doesn't become impossible for moderators to deal with.
