I'm making some facepacks to the 180x180 cut-out style, but I can't seem to cut out the background altogether,after selecting it, I am only able to change its colour...

Could anybody help..?

I remember having the same problem with GIMP once, but I haven’t had any problems lately.

They released a new version of GIMP recently (version 2.4), and I think that might have been what fixed it. So, if you’re not already using GIMP 2.4 try downloading that.
