My lone striker have been left isolated for most of the time during a match. Few passes (much like 10(3) per game). Can anyone help?

I am playing 4-2-3-1 (MC-MC-AMC-AML-AMR)

Players' instructions are as follow:
AMR/AML:
Mentality 14;
CF 14;
Passing: one notch to slow;
CD: Team 14 (one notch to whole area)
Forward run, Run with ball, crosses: often
Long shot: rarely
try through balls: normal

AMC:
Mentality: 16
CF: 16
Passng: Mixed (6? one notch to mixed)
CD: rarely 5
Run with ball ball, thru ball: often
all the rest normal

SC:
Mentality 16
CF: 6
Passing: short (5?)
CD: rarely 5 (one notch to rarely)

any advice how to improve my tactic?

Set your striker to hold up ball and run with ball often so that he may also run to side and hold up while AMRLC run in, striker could then assist and get high rating.
