Default El Cultural Durango Desafio

I think I've come across one of the greatest challenges in FM... Cultural Durango. It isn't the most difficult conceivable, after all it would be much more difficult to win the Champions League with Chimney Corner, but that would be so close to impossible and take so long it doesn't really make a great challenge, as well as becoming domestically boring after you start to dominate the Northern Irish leagues.

This is much more difficult than an English Conference South/North club because Durango have the same standard of players and reputation, but can only sign Basques and are in a division with clubs mostly of a much higher standard. Also, there are no automatic promotion places in the Spanish Segunda Division B, making promotion all the more difficult.

There are a number of milestones to be completed:
1) Avoid relegation in the first season,
2) Promotion to the Segunda Division,
3) Promotion to the Primera Division,
3) Win the Primera division and eventually the Champions League.

Surviving in each league and gaining promotion to the next is much more difficult than the English leagues because there is a far greater difference in quality between the top and bottom clubs in the Segunda and Segunda B divisions.

If you like lower league challenges and fancy something away from the British leagues, this is definitely for you.

whs tbh. I'm getting tired of seeing a new chellenge every few days. We may aswell have a forum just for challenges. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Thats your opinion. And allthough I don't disagree with having a challenge forum, there's no point in slating a brand new challenge just because you won't be doing it. Just ignore it, and if it doesn't take off, it will fall away from the top page.

And Ackter. How on earth did you get sacked from the testing team?

This is a very good challenge, I found them a while ago when reading a Basque clubs thread. Was thinking of making a thread, never did in the end.

I got relegated and haven't had another go since.

How did you find it happywill? I mentioned them in the worst club thread, the one about the Uraguayan club.

I have heard about these, an all Basque team aren't they. These were one of my candidates for a "Worst team in the world" thread, but I don't think i'll do another one

I think a challenge from a respectable member of the forum shouldnt be slated.

And i do agree that a challenge thread should be created as long as it is kept tidy

If you need to ask that then you're not too clever are you...

Look, I've been playing this for a few seasons, found it to be a very enjoable challenge, so I thought I'd share it with other people.

If this is really as pointless a thread as some of you seem to think and no one is interested in it, then it will quickly drop of the bottom of the page. Unless of course, you keep it at the top with your needless comments regarding your dissinterest.

I think I found it mentioned in one of your replies in a thread about basque clubs when I was searching for a new game to start a couple of weeks ago.

I've done 6 seasons now and I'm still in D2B, narrowly avoiding relegation in the first 2 season but competing for promotion playoff places for the last 4 seasons, and was even 5 minutes away from promotion in the only playoff final I've reached, before conceding 2 goals the club reputation has only just changed from obscure to local, and I'm still expected to lose every game and expected to battle bravely against relegation by the board. Despite having lots of money in the bank I still can't attract any half decent players and have had no youngsters come through the youth team, even though the club facilities have been upgraded to average.
