I've made a start, although the friendlies haven't gone too well, two losses and a draw all to non league teams. I'm also finding it hard to sign players, I have a feeling I could be playing a few players out of position this season.
One question though, what colours are the home and away kits? I have some kits for them but I think they may be the wrong way round.

| I had the same with the kits, swapped them round, although the away colours are white and blue, the kit I had was red.
In some games we've played in green, another game black, must be due to colour clashes as they aren't real kits.
That €50k won't make a difference, we're most likely going to be relegated
Just had a chance to go 1-0 up, but missed the penalty (yet again), h/t we're 2-0 down. 3 games left after this one, playoff place is the only slight chance.

So close, just not quite good enough.
With 3 games to go Pitu rallied the troops, and we beat Marino 4-0 at home, getting revenge after they beat us 6-1 away (worst defeat I think).
The game after that we had a chance to go 1-0, yet miss another penalty (must be about 5 now), so by h/t we're 2-0 down. Only lost 3-2 in the end (scored a penalty after changing penalty taker), but Palencia drew and we were relegated.
I don't know what to do now, I could restart the challenge, or see what clubs have no manager in the summer. Some of the promoted clubs will surely be just as bad, maybe there will be another Basque one?

I say start again, I think it would be better to share experiences if we all managed the same team.

I had a few players like that, I wonder how 10% yearly wage increase works?
I eventually got to the season update, loads of the promoted clubs have no manager, a lot of them have no players.
1 team is Basque, Gernika Club, who literally have nothing. No players or staff, not even a chairman. Their stadium, reputation and facilities are better than Cultural Durango's though. After adding a manager to see what they were like, they have a little bit of money to spend, and after hiring and assistant 31 players show up as realistic targets, including Cultural Durango players.
They would be pretty much impossible unless you can somehow convince enough players to join. I think I'll start again with Cultural Durango, maybe tonight. It'd be a challenge to finish 19th with a squad of Basque greys and maybe only 30 players interesting in signing for you |

I've played my first league game, it ended in a 2-0 home loss to holders Ponferradina. Although it was disappointing to lose, I was surprised with how well they played, I had 55% of the possession and missed a couple of good chances. Lets hope things can improve.

That's unlucky Scoham, looks pretty close. Good luck if you start again.
I had the same kits too, just swapped them round and ignored the fact that the away kit is a different colour. Quote: |

| I did a lot of retraining of players' positions, especially in midfield, but that took a long time with most of them and didn't really help in the first season.

I was also retraining players, and only one I think became accomplished, and that was right at the end of the season.
Im going to start again now, I have a bit of a better idea now, got to get the players on f/t contracts as soon as possible, and hopefully have a bit more luck (especially with penalties!).
You've shown its possible to stay up at least happywill. What season are you in now? Did you get relegated back down after your promotion?
