Default From Rags to Riches. The Irish European challenge.

Disclaimer :- Yes I know some ideas/part of the post is taken from Dafuge's challenge but there is no point changing a perfect template.

The Aim

To take the smallest club in the smallest playable european league to european glory.

In essence the biggest problem with using the lower league challenge for the bigger leagues is the financial clout you gain from the T.V. money and from cup ties. Take away that bonus and the challenge becomes a whole lot harder, especially with a lower reputation leagues and starting in the qualyfing rounds of the Champions League making money takes longer.

The Rules

You must load a game with only the Northern Irish Leagues loaded from the bottom division up, with a database no bigger than large. No extra players maybe retained.

Attribute masking must be on.

Add yourself as an unemployed manager, the details of your manager are not important.

Go on holiday until 1st July 2006.

Retire as manager.

Add a new manager and take over the newly promoted club in the Northern Irish second division. As there is a relegation play off, in the event of the league club retaining there league status, you may take over them.

It is now up to you to manage this club all the way to European glory.

No external utilities such as FMScout or editors, cheating is not welcomed. ( This includes cheat training )

There is no way of checking if your using downloaded tactics but this is frowned upon.

Rules for this thread

Player naming is allowed.

Discussion on tactics is allowed. (No links to tactic downloads please)

Screenshots for anything are encouraged.

Progress of your club should be documented using this thread, we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing really badly.

The Winner

There will be no winner as the goal posts are constantly moving. To lead your club to european glory is a magnificent acheivement but in essence the challenge only just begins. There are number of other unrealistic but obtainable side challenges which you may try to acheive. If these are acheived then you really are a winner These are:

Worldwide Reputation

Eight trophies in one season

To have a player at your club reach a 1000 League goals. ( The opposition should be easier. So it's plausible
)

Northern Irish League to be first in the coefficent table

Having a club which is sustaineable to the extent that the AI can lead it to european glory

Win every game that year

Northern Irish international sucess

Good luck

I'll start it now. I've got a similar one going with East Stirling as well at the moment. I'll start this one and might stop if it's too hard.

Hopefully this is the next logical step up after Dafuge's challenge and hopefully the summer challenge.

750 seater stadium. Average for the league is a 1000. Wage budget is the same as an average conference north/south side thankfully. /o\

This will be interesting if enough people try it, unlike playing in the English or other big leagues it'll be a lot harder to attract players and there's no TV money or anything like that.

It would surely take years without cheating to get enough money to expand the stadium, and can you ever become pro?
