Season 2016/17

Drew Valerenga is CL 2nd Qual Round, beat them 4-3 on agg. Disappointing really, should have won by more.
Drawn against Everton in the 3rd Qual. Round. Played them last year in the group stages, drawing at home and losing away, so it didn't look to promising.
But...

My stadium is currently being expanded though, more than doubling its capacity from 750 to 1750

i dont know what else to suggest to you Azeryk. If I do what you do and win the CL , I will look at getting another Ni club to the same level and then get the NI co-efficient into the top 10. Meaning two clubs will directly qualify for the group stages of CL !!!

Havent had much time to play lately but will try and get a full season in tonight. Need to get to the NIPL. Im signing anyone that is prepared to come and Im blowing my budget. We'll see what impact this has soon.

So after beating Everton 7-1 on agg, I was drawn alongside Monaco, Brondby and Dinamo Tblisi. A very easy group compared to some and it will give me a very good chance to progress to the knockout phase.
Beat Dinamo 2-0 away and Brondby 2-0 home, then lost 2-1 against Monaco.
3 games in, 6 points, 5 above 3rd/4th. Another win should be enough really, but hopefully I'll manage more than that.
Just started the league, played 1 game, won 5-0 away. In the final of the League Cup against Linfield, to be played shortly.

B]Holywood say Hello to Northern Irish Premier League [/B]

I am not giving up on this challenge just yet.

OK, finally made it to the NIPL.
It was a very competitive season and going into Round 22, no less than 5 teams had a chance to gain direct promotion by winning the league or entering the play off by finishing 2nd.

As things would have it, we were 2nd and were taking on Larne who had the week earlier defeated previous top side Bangor, to take over at the top of the league. They were 1 pt clear of us and we were 1 pt clear of 3rd place Loughgall.

So Larne was at home and I went into the game very nervous with plenty riding on it. After all, we could have had control of the situation if we had of defeated already relegated Banbridge the week before, but we couldnt break them down and had to settle for a 0-0 draw at home.

The game was even until we opened the scoring thru AMC Mark Graham. 1-0 at HT and automatic promotion was on there for the taking.

the 2nd half performace was fantastic. The best of the season. Graham ended up a hat trick and we ended up winning 5-0 to romp to the 1st Division league title. A great way to do it with our best performance of the season. The result cost Larne any chance of promotion as they finished 3rd.

I have plenty to do to get together a good NIPL squad but im looking forward to it.

2014/15 Holywood's 1st Season in the NIPL

and what a year it was. 4th spot !! \0/

We made an ordinary start and got our ass delivered to us on a platter in the first 3 games. Comprehensive defeats in each of them and things werent looking good. But a couple of decent results, the confidence picked up and the lads were on there way.

We scored plenty, conceeded a lot also, which will need looking into for next season.

Season highlight was hammering 3rd placed Portadown 5-1 at home. We started the game as 15-1 outsiders.

Anyway, 4th spot means qualification for the Euro Vase (Inter Toto Cup). So my first Euro adventure with Holywood. Woo Hoo.
1st round we take on Torpedo of Belarus. If we get thru that, hopefully some decent gate takings from a tie with Auxerre of France.

Linfield and Glentoran own the league. Both have had players picked up by PL clubs in England and Scotland. they only lost 2 games between them for the whole league season and both conceeded less than 10 goals (I conceeded 45)

Also, Linfield did very well in Europe. Got thru teh UEFA Cup group stages and had a 2-0 lead from teh 1st leg at home against Rangers. Lost 2-0 at Ibrox and went on to lose the penalty shoot-out. Harsh.

Anyway, looking forward to next season.

Best performers were Brian Rea with 20 league goals. Ryan Johnson and David Burke (signing from Crumlin), as well as GK Peter Wilson and CB Stepeh Patterson.

David Kerr, Ryan Johnson and David Burke all capped by the National team during the course of the season.

Oh yeah, and I should mention that i was offered the England job which I accepted. Lost the 2014 WC Final 3-0 to Argentina . My only loss since taking the job.

Good job kouta! nice to see someone is still playing this game. I've been on holiday so that's my excuse, but then again, I've been back for almost a week now and haven't played any form of FM. I'll try to pick this back up soon and see how things are going.
