1 - After running the game in holiday mode for at least one season (you can wait more and the number of Leagues you run is irrelevant), take over a club newly promoted to the Conference North/South who have never played at this level in the game before.
Clubs that have never played at that level (so check their history, must never have played in a playable league before), or just an unplayable team at the start of the game?

I'm having to do a similar thing with my Saxemara squad, their finances are so damn bad i've got 10 players in the starting line up under 20 . They're mostly greys too

Perhaps you could include a rule which allows you to sign unattached newgens or other clubs' players under 18? This would still make it very challenging but not impossible as it seems now.

In the first year of my Dafuge challenge, I signed a grey left sided midfielder for the firs time. He did pretty well in Conference South and even better in Conference National. I even played him a bit in League 2 but then he was gone.
There are a few excellent challenges knocking around at the moment, (so I am keeping quiet about my ideas for my own), and I am sure to give one of them a go if I ever finsh Dafuge's challenge .
To be honest, although I am not giving up, I am pretty much resigned to the fact that FM07 will probably be out before I complete it.
By the way, I totally agree that unsigned newgens should NOT allowed to be signed.
