Although i like a challenge.
As mentioned before. I think this challenge is a bit unrealistic and you can't complete it the way it's supposed to.
When you ever get a young player through, your coaches are so bad you can't make him any better.

I think this challenge would stand a chance when you have a team which has a perfect trainingground with a youth academy, and you are allowed to sign decent staff.

Because now you don't have any staff, no youngster are coming through, your older players start retiring and your trainingground are even worse than a garbagebelt. Eventually you're only left with grey players who won't get any better.

Although i would love to try again, i think this challenge will die a horrible dead because nobody will end up anywhere higher dan say Conf. Nat.
Or you're just lucky when you sell a player for an enormous amount so you can build some decent facilities.

PeterR i have one coach who is crap - but having introduced a new training schedule this season, my players are improving pretty well.

Very difficult challenge but good fun aswell..

I had been getting quite fed-up with this game - I'd been messing about with Dafuge's challenge for quite a while but seemed to get stuck in a kind of "no-hope" loop after my second Premier League season.
This seems kinda impossible so I thought I'd give it a go. It's rather strange removing the transfer dealing from the game, but it certainly speeds things up.
So, by some incredible miracle I won the Conference South title in the first season with Braintree. I have no real explanation for this, in fact it's quite inexplicable.

I used my own training schedules and a pretty basic 4-4-2/4-3-3 tactic and the results kept on rolling in.

]League table 06-07
]Squad list

]Squad stats

As you can see, pretty bizarre stuff. Toku and Coote formed an formidable front pairing, picking up 35 league goals between them. Forbes chipped in with 10 league assists despite his despicable crossing ability (3!). Toku had the most league assists of any player at 16, and had 11 MOM to go with it. Both Bolton and Wolves are interested but he ain't going no place unless they stump-up some real cash. Hopefully if that happens the board will agree to improve the training facilities.

It'll be interesting to see how we fare in the Conference National, but I'm not expecting anything as spectacular as the first season.

I'm having a real problem with contracts. Many of the players have got too big for their boots after winning the league and want idiotic (by Braintree's standards) pay rises to stay.

I promoted one grey player, Ross Corbett, an "AM RC, FC" to cover the right wing position. He only played 9 games but did well enough to justify his contract.

Can't wait for the next season just to see if this whole thing makes any sense, and indeed, whether it is possible at all.

You're links dont work outremer, but very good to see somebody else trying this and not simply quitting.

As i said its possible to be sucessful in the Conference North/South if you keep the current squad at the club.

Well done

Yeah, I tried my best but I royally messed the links up. Seeing as I can't edit my post perhaps a mod would like to clean them up for me?

Pretty please?

One game to go - Im in the relegation spots after a dissapointing 1 - 1 draw. Unfortunatly margate thrashed Wrexham 4 - 0, and im now 2 points behind them - but with a better GD.

Basically if i win and Margate lose/draw then im staying up!

So the last game of the season was upon us.

I had to win, and then had to hope Margate could do no better than a draw.

On paper i hada chance - i was at home to already relegated Alfreton Town, while Margate had the tough task of going to York Street to face a strong Boston side.

We started brilliantly - we flew out of the blocks and goals from Lee George, Stephen Buzzeo and Daniel Rowe we were 3 - 0 up by half time.

Unfortunatly the Margate score would not show so i didnt know what was going on.

The second half kicked off and we were poor - an easy goal for Robbie Matthews made us sweat at 3 - 1.

However Alfreton never troubled me father and Michael Laws - a versitile defender sealed the win with a great header. We had 4 - 1 but how did Margate do? i was bricking myself clicking on continue...

I took the plunge and YESSSSSS we had done it - Margate could only manage a 0 - 0 draw at Boston .

So we had stayed up even when we had no right to - and next season ive got to try and do it again.
