Ackter's FourFourTwo Ultimate European Champions League Challenge
Ok, this month's FourFourTwo magazine has a feature on nationalities winning the European Championship. "If, for example, more Brazilian left backs have lifted the trophy than any other breed, we add a Brazilian left back to our ultimate team." They've also done the same for age.
The Ultimate European Champions League Team consists of:
Pos: Nation - Age
GK: Spanish - 23
DR: Italian - 32
DL: Brazilian - 27
DC: Italian - 28
DC: Spanish - 28
MR: Dutch - 24
ML: Portuguese - 26
MC: German - 29
MC: French - 26
ST: Brazilian - 25
ST: Italian - 29
The rules are as follows:
Choose any team outside of the first division in any European country (but not Juventus).
Lead them to the top division and get them into the European Champions League.
Everytime you win the European Champions League, you get 10 points. Now this is where it gets interesting.
For every player that wins the trophy that matches the above ultimate team, you get an extra 10 points.
So for example, you win the European Champions League with a Spanish goalkeeper you would get 10 points for the win, and a further 10 points for the Spanish goalkeeper. If that Spanish goalkeeper happens to match the ultimate age (in this case 23) you get a further 10 points.
The ultimate challenge would be to win the European Champions League with the Ultimate Team (as stated above). If every player matches the nationalities above, you get a bonus of 50 points. If your players match both the nationalities and the ages of the above ultimate team, you get a bonus of 100 points.
So to summarise:
Win the European Champions League: +10 points
Each player of your trophy winning team that matches the ultimate nationality: +10 points
As above, but also with the ultimate age: +10 points
Your entire trophy winning team matches the ultimate team's nationalities: +50
Your entire trophy winning team matches the ultimate team's nationalities and ages: +100 points
For every player who does not match the nationalities above: -1 point
You lose no points for players of the wrong age.
This can be done in any version of FM, it's up to you, but you must state which game you are using.
The formation must be a 442, but you may use any variation of 442 you like.
I'll be waiting for FM07 to begin this, and I haven't decided which team I will use as of yet, but please take the reigns and let's get this started. SHould be quite a difficult one.
Any questions or comments, feel free to post them here.
Cheers
Marc
EDIT: rules added from rest of thread:

Subs count too. So if you have two 23 year old Spanish goalkeepers and play them both in the final, you get points for each.
note: bringing on a player as a substitute who does not fit in to the ultimate team forfits your ultimate bonus points.
If you bring on an Englishman, for example, you lose your 50/100 points bonus.

You may retrain players to fit into the formation if you wish. So if you have a promising Dutch left winger, you may retrain him and play him on the right of midfield.

second nationalities count You can play them out of position, so you can play a dutch left winger as long as you play him in right midfield.

442 only

Ideal set-up for starting with an English team:
English Leagues, League Two-Premiership
Retained players: Brazil, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal, Spain.

Ackter's FourFourTwo Ultimate European Champions League Challenge Post #2
Ackter, seems like a good challenge, (but not for me I'm afraid).
Just a question though. Is it a typo that says that the average age for a European Championship GK is 23?
I'm not that into European football, but an average age of 23 for a keeper seems very young, especially when the average can be increased easily, (by a player in mid 30's, but can't really be reduced much by a player under 20. It just seems a bit wrong to me,
I'm going to do a bit of research to see if it adds up.
I appreciate that you're copying the info from Four Four Two Magazine, it just doesn't seem right .

Iker Casillas brought the average age down seeing as he won his first medal at the age of 19.
