Topic Deleted by Mistake - Something like "What's wrong with FM"
It seems I inadvertantly deleted a topic that was jsut started while trying to delete a double post.
Could whoever posted it please re-post and I'll delete this one:

Contracts:
Youth Contracts Flawed. Youth players have 3/4 year contracts. This causes issues with releasing them and compensation.
Player requests transfer, wants to leave to a bigger club, then rejects mutual termination.
AI Nations reject high reptuation human Manager for low repuation AI manager.
Many top level managers remain unemployed when they start unemployed.
Registration:
Many, many registration issues. Teams losing squad numbers, teams having their "B" and "C" or youth teams unregistered among other issues.
MLS issues, Toronto issue, the designated player (beckham rule) is counted towards salary cap. Other issues include foreign players not being counted as foreign. No MLS Waiver claim listing/ranking.
MLS Captain issue (this may be an issue for all teams), you can waive/get rid/sell your captain, and if you go on a bad run, the assistant will give you advice to get that player to give a team meeting.
AFAIK the team meeting never happens. Had assistant tell me to get a player I'd released 8 months ago to run a team meeting.
Board/Fan Confidnce:
Horribly broken. Win CL, League, get told off for losing in a crappy cup competition.
LLM team lose to a high ranked team, board don't care, get angry.
Extreme negative reaction to going out in a "League Cup" type event despite massive progress in bigger areas.
Lose a pre-season friendly and hear about it for the next 7 months.
Board will get angry over losing a 1st leg, even if you win the 2nd leg.
Board will get angry with a loss or draw in a 2nd leg, even if you go through on away goals etc.
Manager given near-impossible task, eg win MLS in 2 years with expansion team Toronto, or take over a club who come last in a single division league, and expect to win it in 2 years.
Manager sacked despite good progress.
Manager sacked very early in career.
Board do not re-evaluate goals when new manager brought in. Can lead to Manager being sacked for not winning/promotion when it's basically impossible to from the position they are.
Board often fail to offer new contract within a sufficient timeframe.
Fans annoyed with free feeder club loans, or loans of players who will only be backup (eg a backup keeper).
Board just never seemed satisfied.
Transfers:
Near impossible to sell some squad/backup players even on frees.
Very high fees. Even higher fees for Human players.
AI squad sense clearly lacking (teams buying 4/5/6 top value strikers).
AI accepts low offers from other AI, rejects better Human offer. Example Human Manager offer 30 million for Micah Richards, is rejected, AI Liverpool offer 23million and board intervens and accepts offer.
Negotiation with AI is usually "Manager offer", "AI negotiate 50% More", "Manager offer 25% more", "AI negotiate 75% more from original". Not really negotiations, just AI increasing their needed value every
time.
Ai will offer a player to you, the screen shows "Make new offer" instead of "accept". Often AI will reject the "new offer".
AI Chairman accepting stupid bids for wonderkids/young players. They also ignore onsale percentages. Buy a wonder kid for 4 million plus 50% on sale, chairman sell him year later for 10 million with half
going to the first team. Team makes 1 million, sells wonderkid to divisional rival. Bad choice.
AI teams will continually offer the same player out to Manager.
Players:
Players get angry after having below-value bids rejected.
Players get angry after having bid negotiated.
Players will sign long term contracts, then get angry shortly afterwards about their status. Why sign the contract then? Example keepers who sign a backup contract getting angry after they are on the bench
95% of the season. Why sign a backup contract with no release clause?
Players will sign new contracts identical to the one they are on, except with their wage dropped one notch (ie 650 from 675 for lower team players). They will also ignore having sign on fees removed, which
enables this to be done with top flight players.
Occasionally players retire from internationals before major cup competitions (which they are a part of).
Players who "retire" should actually retire once their team goes on holiday.
Morale:
Morale just random and broken, players are near impossible to get off "very poor" but drop super fast if a negative happens whilst they are "very good/superb".
Match Stats/Engine:
Unrealistic possession caused by opposition passing the ball back and forth between full backs, midfield and defence, never moving foward, whilst other team stands and watches instead of closing down all
over the park.
Midfielder standing around and getting dispossed.
Many, many stupid defensive decisions. 3 players marking one ane leaving 2 open at free kicks, players running towards half-way when a ball has been played long over the top, defence rushing foward like an
offside trap when no instruction given, man marking/tight marking ignored.
Sliders seem to have no real effect. Player will still ignore you, do stupid things.
Injury time going 4/5/6/7 minutes over, leading to injury times of 5/6/7/8/9 minutes.
Penalties in silly situations. Players tripping opposing player moving away from goal, players holding someone after a ball has gone way past them, tackles on the edge of the area that are not needed etc.
Players with pace often beaten by players without (and excessively without).
Keepers ignore instructions. The classic example is keeper lumping it to Micheal Owen every time.
Long Shots. Have it on rarely, creative freedom to none, etc etc and players still make many many long shots a game.
Tactics will just stop "working". Re-ranking maybe, just that stuff that worked at the start/middle of the season will stop at the backend.
A player who takes long shots and misses will often score a 6 rating despite being good apart from those shots.
Stats don't always match 2d engine.
Player creative freedom is too high even at very low CF slider position.
Yellow/Red cards unrealistic. IRL it is rare to see violent conduct in a major league, happens every week in FM. Midfielders given many yellows for insignificant "comings together or shirt pulling" in
midfield. Many times entire midfield getting yellows.
Players ignore corner instructions. You can make a mega-defensive tactic to hold a lead, and keep only a strong striker short to stay in the corner and waste time, but the entire team will waltz up into the
box, the corner taker makes a bad corner, it ends in a counter-attack and goal.
Defence against counter-attacks from corners is bad, with players running to their "position" instead of defending the player in front of them.
Team Talks:
Broken. Seems utterly random. Players always seem to "not be listening" or some such.
Why don't you play like that every week broken. The team will always feel you are "not giving them enough credit" even if they have lost or drawn every game in the last 2 months.
Scouting:
Scouting flawed, any player with 4, 3, 2 stars could mean anything from "good premiership" downwards. Even 1 star could mean could mean "decent premiership" or "good conference national".
Scout reports of 4 or more stars are most likely to be existing high valued players. Scout returns with reports for Ronaldihno, De Rossi, Kaka etc.
Reports from non european or high south american countries very small (example week for Australia, 3/4 days for Canada). Will only return half a dozen reports. Even with retain players and high detail for
that country.
Many, many areas will give no reports at all. Youth leagues for major countries often give zero reports as well.
FM 07 version much more useful for the ideal of actually finding new young talent for your team.
Finances/Staffing:
Board limit spending despite being under budget.
Board limit scout numbers despite being under budget. Example Can't hire a young untested scout who wants 230 a week, costing 3k compensation, for a total yearly price of 3% of a single week's SPARE transfer
funds.
Board limit contract renewal wage for existing scout/physio/coach/assistant, but will allow high wage for someone signed to the club (even with compensation). Causes many, many assistants to be out of a job.
Causes Managers to be unable to retain staff. Example: Only able to offer 14k to current assistant, instead of the 17k he wants. When he leaves, am able to offer anyone 17.75k a week, even a current coach.
Why?? It appears the game takes into account the actual wage of the person being offered a new wage, so instead of subtracting it (like Current Wage Budget - 14k = 30k left-over meaning you can offer the
high wage) it looks like (Current Wage Budget = only 14k left-over, limit new contracts to 14k)
Board should re-evaluate transfer once season is "set" (say with 1/2 months left), taking into account any projected earnings (TV Rights/finishing money) that is earned in that period. The board should
re-evaluate the transfer fund every 2 weeks until the start of the new season. They should give a "minimum" amount just before the season ends, and then allow the player to receive more for upgrading their
goals and/or if the club makes more money than expected.
Board should re-evaluate transfer funds during mid-season transfer window.
Board take too long to "reset" the wage and transfer budget.
Many teams fail to sign a new assistant manager.
Other:
Reading massively over-rated.
Former player question asked of seemingly any player you ever had in your team whenever they go up against you.
Tutoring needs to be stream-lined, perhaps in it's own specialist screen. Either that or coaches given PPM's which they can training a player on, requring the manager to make decisions over staff, and who to
give specilist PPM training to.
Teams promoted from "unplayable" leagues are often predictable. After 2-3 seasons it should give a much better/equal chance to any of the teams that are in similar reputation range, and after 5-6 every team
should have the same chance. The team's reputation should then be automatically improved to compete.
Need to be option to scout your feeder clubs.
Needs to be an option to clear all scout reports, and to clear all the scout assignments.
Lower League attendances wacky. Push for promotion in one year, then next improve to leading, but attendances fall.
Cup attendances still too low. Most clubs would sell out a good Cup match.
Improve human players ability to influence investments into club (stadium, training, youth, feeder club youth/training facilities), perhaps by trading off transfer/wage budget.
