Since I'm getting moderate success with my tactics and am starting to enjoy myself again, I'm finding myself getting more and more into FM2008.

But there's one issue which pretty much has ruined the game for me.

And that's not being told when international jobs become available. Not even when my own nation Ireland decided to give Steve Staunton the sack was I informed. I probably wasn't even considered in the shortlist of 4 because I was flying high in the Premiership but I would have applied and probably got the job had I got the chance.

Instead the opportunity slipped by me and now there's some regen eejit in the job.

Please make the mailbox more customisable in the future. This is the last straw in the complete lack of immersion that the game now thrusts upon you. Granted some people like it, but why not have a set of tickboxes for categories to select that will appear in my inbox?

Furthermore, it's not "Premiership News", it's news that pertains directly to me, so again, it really should be in my inbox.

It's not just the international jobs you don't get infotmed about but prem jobs as well. You don't always receive notification of vacant jobs sackings etc.

not being told about sackings and resignations is probably my biggest remaining problem with the game.

Usually international job would be available after big tournaments (WC, Euro, Copa, etc.) so you only need to go look up for the job cebter.

About other coaches in the league are sacked and not being informed, that's quite a concern. Hope that'll be fixed.

No Macyst, that's not true mate. Plenty of examples of managers sacked / left half way through qualifying etc.

Besides, it's not the point - I don't want to have to look for international jobs - I want to be told about the job as it's very relevant to me.

I think i remember hearing somewhere that if you persistently look at the job center it effects your loyalty attributes or something?

I would definitely welcome the possibility to "customize" my mailbox, and deciding what kind of news (and from where) I wanted to know of. Right now it seems that nothing's happening in the world of football, it's like my club is playing solo.

One of the strengths of FM has always been this "world simulation" side, where there's much more going on than your own problems or victories. I feel that was hidden in this version (yes I know it's there, but it's hidden and besides is boring having to check league by league for something important).
