Joe Bayen at www.allegorithmic.com has invited me to share with you all this very interesting and new technology plugin, called Map | Zone. It creates fully editable, virtually unlimited procedural FX and texture maps.

Here's what Joe says about it:

In Dec. we will release our newest software (called Osmose, it?s an in house name, it might change), which basically gives the user the opportunity to edit in a non-linear way, any work done using Photoshop. In essense, this will be some type of undo button; for instance in an a b c d e type of process you will be able to modify d or c or any of them without interfering with the entire aspect of a work, which will save a lot of time to a lot of people. Tthere is no need to re-work entirely an image, no need to save many times a piece of work. Therefore it also saves a lot of space on the hard drive. I don?t know if I explained the process fully, but this is definately another breakthrough for Photoshop users.

It doesn't seem to be very Mac friendly.
Instant doom for PS on calling up the filter.

I've kept the crash logs etc. if it's going to help.
