Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Barcelona tactic - so far so awesome!

I started my first game on the new patch with Barcelona, ok not the hardest job in the world but even I have been impressed with my new formation and tactics with this talented bunch!

I am the typical englishman and usually play an attacking 4-4-2 formation so the prospect of Messi and Ronaldinho had brought me a headache.

I decided to go for a 4-1-2-2-1 or in essence a kind of 4-1-2-3.

GK: Valdes
DR: Rafinha
DL: Abidal
DC: Puyol
DC: Milito
DM: Toure
MC: Xavi
MC: Iniesta
AMR: Messi
AML: Ronaldinho
SC: Henry

Both full backs make slight forward runs, Iniesta plays on the left of the 2 centre mids and makes runs up to Henry's position, Messi and Ronaldinho make bending runs towards Henry's position as well.

Tactics are:
Mentality - Attacking
Tempo - Fast
Closing Down - Often
Play - Wide
Zonal Marking
Normal Tackling
Creative Freedom - Much
Counter Attack - Yes
Passing - Mixed
Ronaldinho and Messi have both been allocated as playmakers.

Now I expected to create lots but maybe ship a few goals... how wrong I was!

I'm half way through January and am still yet to lose domestically, in fact my only loss was a 1-0 away defeat to Lyon in the CL (a game I deserved to win). I have infact only conceded 4 goals all season!! 1 in the CL and 3 in La Liga, I have won every game so far except for the defeat to Lyon and 3 draws in the league (0-0 home to Villareal, 1-1 away to Valencia and 1-1 away to Betis)

I'm sitting pretty at the top of the league, 9 points clear of Real and Valencia and have Werder Bremen in the first knock out round of the CL. I've had some good games before but can't remember conceding so few, especially with such an attacking set up.

If someone advises me how to post screenshots I will be happy to when I'm back at home
