Hello and welcome to my challenge... this is a hard and very tough challenge, but I hope some people will enjoy the idea and get working on it, however long it may take.
The Aim
To take a small club who were previously unplayable in the game to Premiership and Champions League glory using ONLY your current players and your youth system.
The Rules
Load a game with the English leagues only, with the Conference N/S selected, a medium database and attribute masking enabled. No additional players from any nation should be loaded.
The extra levels of detail that you can change while in the game are up to you, as they shouldn't make a difference.
Add yourself as an unemployed manager, the details are not important at all.
Go on holiday until 20th June. (Hint - saving on 19th June may give you a better choice of teams by saving and reloading the game). This shouldn't take that long, perhaps about an hour.
Retire your 'Holiday Man' manager.
Add a new manager, the options are up to you but 'past experience' must be set to 'automatic'. Choosing your nationality should have no real effect on your game, other than possibly relations.
Take over one of the new clubs promoted to the Conference North or South, if you are not sure about which clubs have been promoted, please ask around or check the 06/07 league table, just make sure the club is not listed here. To make completely sure that the club is eligible, check the club's history of league positions, it should be blank. There should be six new clubs in total in the Conference North/South.
The main difference is that you are not allowed to purchase players, get players on loan, sign new players, or anything like that. The only players you may use are your current players (you may want to sign grey players currently on your team) and players who are promoted through your youth system.
The staff you sign however is not restricted, you may sign staff who are unattached or "purchase" them from other teams.
It is completely up to you which club you choose, although please appreciate that some clubs may be easier to manage than others (eg. AFC Wimbledon, since they have a full squad of players and staff).
It is now up to you to manage this club all the way to the Premiership and UEFA Champions League crown.
You may not move clubs unless you are sacked.
If you get sacked, you can either take over a newly promoted club that satisfies the original criteria (check the club's league history), or just start again.
Any form of international management is not allowed, until you have completed the challenge.
No external utilities such as FMScout should be used and the database should be uneditied. Should SI release a data update, this would be allowed. It is advised that people should update using the latest patches as they are released.
Rules for this Thread
Discussion on tactics is allowed. (This is warning for those of you who do not wish to see this)
Screenshots for anything are encouraged.
When you join the challenge, could you post a screenshot of your manager's profile on the 20th June, so we know whos playing and making sure that your reputation is on Unknown.
Progress of your club should be documented using this thread, we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing really badly.
At the end of every season, could everyone post some kind of season review, including at least a screenshot of a league table. If you give this a title in bold it makes it a bit easier for me to find to update the list.
There is no winner or points system here, but I will try and keep an updated list of all people taking part in the challenge. Please do not update this list yourselves, I will take care of it and update it at least once a week.
How to Post a Screenshot
1. While in FM, press the 'Prt Sc' button (usually next to F12 on your keyboard).
2. Open an image editing program such as Paint and paste the image
3. Save the file as a JPEG
4. Upload the image to an image hosting website such as Photobucket or Imageshack
5. Post the direct Url to the image here.
Extra
Have fun, that is the point of this challenge
**Basic Tip**
Since you won't have to spend money on players, you should spend it ALL on improving your youth training grounds, regular training grounds and then expanding your stadium in that order of importance.
This challenge was not inspired by "SMSL's Ultimate FM Challenge - Give Youth a Chance!" however he did come up with the idea first and I have slightly modified it to fit FM07 and my personal feelings. So thanks nonetheless. Also thanks to dafuge for allowing me to use his main post as a template for mine and for inspiring me to make this challenge.
Please enjoy and let me know if you have any suggestions!

If you have a parent club (and you should, extra money), you may not play any of the players they send you on loan. Either send them back or let them rot in your team without playing.
I will be starting my game as soon as my holiday ends. Good luck to all :]

19th of june is the best day to stop on because the clubs get promoted the day after so if you save it you will be able to reload the game if you are unhappy with the clubs that get promoted

Its similar to the SMSL challenge, with a few differences. For one, there is no coach restrictions. Everything else is listed in my first post. Perhaps read it while you wait for the holiday part to end =p
