After 30 games unbeaten my run is over - lost at home to Carsharlton 3 - 2 (these lot also beat me in a cup competition earlier in the year)

Still, top of the league by a mile and cruising to promotion.

Margate 07/08 Season Review

So, the first season is done and dusted, and in general it was a stroll.

Heres the League Table:

Over 100 points, but i could of got 120 points had i not eased off at the end. Took me 30 games to lose for the first time but then lost 4 more times it the next 12.

So - the squad that got me there - Squad

As you can see - its wafer thin, only 3 natural strikers, and ONE left back in the entire club.

Key Players:

Jon Maloney - Solid as a rock in defence but proved he can bang a few in also when used upfront.

James Donovan - Maloney's partner in the centre of defence and did a very good job. Will only get better.

Elliot Payne - 18 year old left winger who did really well, scored a fair share of goals and got 9 assists.

Lee Protheroe - Mainly used in the centre of midfield, but also used at right back. Techinically and mentally sound, the 34 yr old veteren was a key part of the side. Some great set peices and ended up with 16 assists.

Aaron Robinson - For 30 games was used as a right winger and had 7 goals, and was palying just averagely. Then, Ben Jackson picked up an injury and he was used upfront - he exploded into form and couldent stop scoring, with 11 goals in 12 games.

Ben Jackson - What a player. Scored 19 goals but also got a huge 23 assists, along with getting over 10 MOTM awards, by far my best player. Massive blow is that he is out for 5 months with a broken leg.

Danny Hockton - Quite simply a prolific striker. Shoots with power and also a brilliant penalty taker. Top scorer with 21 goals, which were all scored in his first 26 games. Didnt add to the total afterwards mainly thanks to injury.

Really hoping for some good youth to come through now to push on in the conference.

So, my first bunch of youngsters are in and im about to start my Conference season. Ive picked out two players who i think may have a future at the club:

Mark Piper

He looks very very average at the moment, but he is quite versetile and im short of wingers. With some decent training i reckon he could make a decent player. He will have 5 years to impress and when he is 21 i will probably make a judgement on him.

The second player looks a right gem however:

Paul Winters

Could be a rock in defence.

Just to add, just lost my first game ive the season to Notts County who will probably win the division 1 - 0 away from home, a result im pleased with. Andy Cole scored their winner.

Come on mate - Coursework isnt much really...

Update on my game - after around 8 games in the conference im struggling. In the relegation spots thanks to sacrificing a 3 - 0 lead to Southport in the second half.

Paul Winters - the youth player i showed you previousley, is now a first choice centre back! Hes an absouloute rock.

Havent played the game for about a week due to my computer being broken.

Small update in the second season in the conference national - im currently 20th after 20 games, but had a big upturn in form recently. Paul Winters, the youth player has been brilliant so far this season for me, and looks very promising.

Decided to give it a go to add a twist to my other LLM games. Took over Marine and had a fairly decent 15 white players so I will only have to sign a few greys to give me an extra bit of depth

Manager profile
The world dominating squad of the future
