I just finished my first season, i'll be writing a summary in a minute =]

DeadlyDevice's King's Lynn Season 1 - 07/08

Summary: The season started out great, where my high point was tied for 2nd place in the table. I also had a little fright with a board takeover, but eventually they let me have a try and keeping my job and I did just enough. The takeover put an extra $70K into my bank account AND upgraded my training facilities which will help me tremendously in the next few years. I fell into a mid-season slump however, and went down to 13th with less than 10 games to go. I recovered the next 6-7 games and was eventually tied for 6th place, and needed to do good my last 3 games to gain a playoff spot. A tie in my 2nd to last game that season made it impossible however and so I lost my last game of the season playing my youngsters. Overall however, not a bad season for a team predicted to go only 17th in the league.

My star players were my two forwards, Michael Frew (20 goals) and Matt Nolan (19 goals, 11 assists) who are now the highest valued players on my team at $22K and $35K. For next season, I hope to build a stronger defense so I can finish out some games and let my strikers do the work.

And that's season 1. With my new upgraded facilities (along with my promised upgrades from during the season) this new season should open some promising doors. Come on King's Lynn!

Well done on your first season mate. at Margate, ive got most of my players on full time contract and what a HUGE difference it makes - the stats are flying up and were going along nicely. We are still top of the table and have just thrashed Carsharlton 3 - 0 away from home.

I actually attempted to put them up for full time contracts but no one accepted :]

I was also expecting to become a full professional team with more than $1million in the bank, but it didn't happen. Next year =]

Normally for them to expect you have to give them larger contracts.. Ive sometimes had to even double wages to get them to FT - but its worth it trust me.

Id also like to say that this Margate side are incredible - ive made no signings yet i have one of the best squads ive ever worked with at this level.

16 games in - 15 wins and 1 draw.

Amazing work for your first season.. how long do you think it would take for someone to finish this challenge? At least 20-25 seasons?

It could be - i got to League One quite comfortably on 06 with Gateshead, doing this sort of thing, and my current squad is better than that Gateshead side.

If i get a few brilliant youngsters i can see myself going quite far. :thup:

However, the Premiership will be a huge step up and may take a long time to become a stable prem side.

I say 20 seasons could be quite accurate, but there is also a danger that if no quality youth is coming through you may see yourself slipping down the leagues!
