Hey everyone,

I have been hoping to come up with a challenge that could keep me busy for a while. Also, since I have played in the EPL for a while now, I decided to go global. Hope this challenge is worth your time! After digging out my FM 07 cd, with a bit of research, I hae come up with this:

The idea is simple yet complicated. World domination. Starting wherever you wish in the list mentioned below.

Pre-requisites:
1.Load the top leagues from: Australia, Brazil, Holland, Italy, Mexico, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain and Urugay. Also, the Championship and the EPL from England. This amounts up to 12 leagues from 11 countries.
2.Medium database.
3.Attribute masking is on.
4.Tactical discussion allowed.
5.No fm scout/genie/gin.
6.Start June ‘06
7.Start on semi-professional footballer.

Rules:
1.Pick a league of your choice and a team in the bottom half (ie in a league of 12 teams, the team should have been predicted a position 7 or lower)
2.The team should only consist of players 22 and under. The goalkeepers, however, can be 25 or under.
3.In the first season with a team, you are allowed to buy/loan any players. However, in the subsequent years with the same team, you WILL NOT buy/loan any players. Use your youth team, or what you have got.
4.If you have extra players, ie, over the age of 22 (or 25 as mentioned), put them in reserve, sent them to affiliates or whatever. You are not allowed to use them in first team competitions. Obviously, there is no way for me or someone else to check that, so you have to be honest with yourself here.
5.Please do not select teams that are required to finish in the top half of the league. Although you can do so in the seasons to follow. However, this might result in negative points. More to follow.
6.You score points for winning a league or competition.
7.International management scores extra points. Age restrictions do not apply here. Yet.
Scoring system:
The scoring system in this case is rather complicated, but well thought out, and I am more than happy to keep a tab on everyone’s progress.

1.Depending on the country you decide to play in, you get points scaled (added/subtracted). So:
Uruguay: +12
Mexico: +10
Scotland: +8
Holland: +6
Brazil: +4
Italy: +2
Spain: 0
South Africa: -2
English Championship: -4
English Premier League: -6
Australia: -8;

2.Depending on the team you pick, the points are further scaled, for example, in a 18 team division, the team predicted to end up 18th is given +18 points, and team predicted to finish 1st is given -16 points (scaling, this has been well thought out).
So I have chalked this out and the scaling for each country would work as follows (keeping the lowest team in mind):
For a team predicted 14th in South Korea, you get +14.
For a team predicted 16h in South Africa, you get +16.
For a team predicted 20th in EPL, you get +20.
For a team predicted 24th in Championship, England, you get +24.
For a team predicted 20th in Italy, you get +20.
For a team predicted 12th in Scotland, you get +12.
For a team predicted 18th in Holland you get +18.
For a team predicted 8th in Australia, you get +8.
For a team predicted 20th in Brazil, you get +20.
For a team predicted 16th in Uruaguay, you get +16.
For a team predicted 20th in Spain, you get +20.
For a team predicted 18th in Mexico, you get +18.

Similarly you get negative points for teams predicted 1st, 2nd etc….
I hope this is clear. I am an engineer, so have taken quite a methodical approach to this! Please ask if still unclear.

3.Now all the individual cups in the country have their own point system. I will try to cover them all here, lemme know if missing something:
Australia:
A league (100)
Final Series (60)
Australia Cup (40)
Pre-season cup (20)

Brazil:
First Division (100)
State Championship (60)
Brazilian cup (40)

England:
EPL (100)
Championship (100)
FA cup (60)
League cup (40)
Community Shield (20)

Holland:
Premier Division (100)
Dutch cup (60)
Super cup (40)

Italy:
Serie A (100)
Italian cup (60)
Super cup (40)

Mexico:
First Division (100)
Interliga (60)
Champions trophy (40)

Scotland:
Premier League (100)
Scottish cup (60)
League cup (40)

South Africa:
Premier League (100)
League cup (60)
Charity cup (40)
Super 8 cup (20)
SAFA cup (20)
African challenge (20)
First division cup (20)

South Korea:
K-league (100)
FA cup (60)
League cup (40)
Super cup (20)
All-star cup (20)

Spain:
First Division (100)
Spanish cup (60)
Super cup (40)

Uruguay:
First Division (100)
Liguilla (60)

4.Along with these national competitions, there are continental ones as well. These include:
Africa:
Africa Champions League (200)
Africa cup winners cup (40)
African Super cup (20)

Asia:
Asian Champions League (200)
Confederations cup (80)
Presidents cup (40)
East Asian Championship (40)

Europe:
CL (200)
Euro cup (80)
Euro Vase (40)
Euro Super cup (20)

North America:
Champions cup (80)

Oceania:
Club championship (40)

South America:
Copa Libertadores (100)
Copa Sudamericana (80)
Recopa (40)

5.Another important point is that these points apply to your first FULL season. Any season beyond that, and your points will be halved compared to last year.
6.Moreover, if you take over a team before their half-season, you get half the points for winning any competitions with them that season. However, that does not affect your scoring system for next year, as they start from scratch again, based on your team’s predicted position.

The object of this challenge is to move around as much as you can. No apparent reason, it would be just better than playing a long term game. Obviously, since the points halve every subsequent season, it would be better if you move clubs/countries.

So, to start, I would need:
1.A print screen of your club information, giving its predicted position.
2.A print screen of your first team squad, all under age limit, obviously.

I have researched this with quite dedication, so it is imperative that the aim/criteria etc of this challenge is understandable. Please feel free to ask any questions at all. And suggestions/advices are welcomed.

Also, if I am missing an important detail, please point that out!

Cheers,
prince_capri

Thought I'd start:

Randomly chose Racing, Spain. They are predicted to finish 19th. Also, the squad looks slightly depleted after removing over 80% of my over 23 players. The only 2 GK's I had were 26, so can't use them!

With the transfer budget I've got (£172K), will have to look for a keeper. Luckily though, Valencia is my parent club..could maybe get some youngsters off them. Also, the only well-known player I know is Portilla (17 years, AMC).

Btw..just to start this, and to let people know, this gives me:
Spain: 0
+Because I am predicted to be 19th, I get +18 starting points

Total = +18.

I might start this, but feel that your halving the points is quite harsh because we are going around continents.

You might be right. More so because we are not allowed to buy anyone after the first season with a club.
However, just thought that since we would have settled in, I could reduce the points.

We will still however get the points for playing in the same country and same clubs. egs, next season, I will get (0+18) points if predicted 19th again.

Could you suggest something else though? Like I think not halving the points is an option. But it just means that after we win a league in one country, we might stay there and do the same again...Chelsea comes to mind.

Lemme know what you think!

It's not actually that complicated if read carefully but it could get a bit confusing in the future but good challenge!

I will give this a go. I'l load up now and pick a team.

Yes..I guess confusing is a better word!
Difficult too..atleast with Racing.

Played my first match against my now-reserves (over the age limit). And they managed to beat me 1-0. Considering my then first team was tipped for relegation, the season would crop up slowly.

good luck and hope you enjoy this!

By being predicted 19th and Spain being 0 does that not mean that you have +19 and not +18?

No.
You see...the better the teams, the lower the points.

and the points go as follows:
predicted points
20 +20
19 +18
18 +16
17 +14
|
|
|
|
4 -12
3 -14
2 -16
1 -18

This covers all the poiints and widens the gap a bit.
For example, someone starting with Barca (predicted 1st) will get -18, and someone starting with Celta (8th) will get -4.
There is a difference of 2 each. Hope this makes sense...lemme know if still doesn't/
