Squad average age is now down to 20. It needs to stop here. The financial situation makes it impossible to sign players. Luckily IFK are happy to let me keep our two loanees for another season, and they even threw in a keeper on their own accord. In an attempt to bring the salaries in line with the budget we had a bit of a clearout of fringe players. Newly promoted Snöstorp/Nyhem decided to go bulk shopping, and I think their three signings are going to be great for them.
Friendlies:
BoIS-Askim 2-2 (Bengtsson M, Kux)
BoIS-Hisingbacka 4-2 (Andersson D, Richt, Bjärne, Bengtsson M)
BoIS-Trönninge 2-0 (Backlund, Hagman)
BoIS-Assyriska FF 1-2 (Bjärne)
BoIS-Gunnilse 1-4 (Kux)
BoIS-Qviding 3-2 (Svensson, Mehmet, Richt)
Squad Status:
Alexander Nadj will be our first choice keeper, with Peter Dahlberg #2. Ola Olaussen will need to show some serious improvement in the reserves.
Gustav Svensson have been outstanding in central defense in the friendlies, I just hope he'll stay fit. The physios say he's fit as a fiddle, but I might just as well ask the tea-lady or the mailman. His partner will of course be Klas Sundqvist. Adam Ahlqvist is so error-prone I am loathe to play him too much yet. Frederik Björk and veteran Lars Andersson also provide cover.
Rabi Yaqueb is the definite #1 right back. He's also our #1 earner, so he'd better be good this year. A bit more competition for left back, with Daniel Nilsson and Nils Andersson duking it out. I think Andersson is the most talented in the long run.
Midfield is a bit of a musical chairs game, as several players can play in different positions. Tobias Andersson laid claim to the anchor man role last year, and will start there. Bastian Andersson will replace Alen Hardega, who I was unable to get a loan extension for. With the opening on the right wing I have the option of moving Mehmet over and playing Daniel Andersson on the left, or I can put Daniel Backlund on the right while Mehmet stay left. The left side is a bit thin, as Andersson and Mehmet are our only options.
Up front it's Johan Richt all the way. He has no competition at all. Christoffer Bjärne is the cover target man, but he won't play unless Johan is in a wheel chair. The secondary striker should be last seasons fans favourite Matias Bengtsson, unless Christian Dahl can show me what he's supposedly got.
We're expected to finish bottom again, even though there are four new teams in the league. The defense is still suspect, and we'll have to carry on last seasons "score-more-than-them" strategy. Going forward we have quality, but not much depth. I hope to improve on last seasons fifth place, but we'll need a bit of luck on our side. I see no hope of improving the financials other than a board takeover, so we just have to work at staying under the wage budget. I smell some grey player signings…
Now it's time for work
