So I (with a bit of free time) decided to see how the AI would react to , lets say , unrealistic circumstances.
This situation:
- Ive stripped out the entire squads / backroom staff and managers of each premier league side.
- I've given each club 9000 reputation points
- I've given each side £40 million pounds , with 20 of that to spend on transfers.
- I've made each stadium 50,000 seats.
- I've given each side 20 Training ground and youth setup level. And each side has a youth academy.
So , what am I looking at. Well basically to see , what players from the premiership are actually wanted , and how each manager act , on a level playing field.
this is clever, you will see the big managers(for example, sir alex ferguson)go to the clubs with chairmans with a high ambition (roman abromovich, chelse)i will read this with interest
Well I've played a few games. And there are some interesting results.
One the managers.
I became Man Utd , so Everton appointed Sir Alex. Rafa Benitez is at Shef Utd , Sven has joined Liverpool. A few have gone back to their same clubs ie Wenger at Arsenal , Pearce at Man City , Boothroyd at Watford.
Well first of all was the battle for players. Its actually quite difficult, I failed to land Rooney (Arsenal) , Henry (Arsenal) , Terry (Chelsea) , Vidic (Barcelona) , Ballack (Arsenal) , M Richards (Arsenal) , Giggs (Chelsea) , Owen (Liverpool). I couldn't get a center half for love nor money , I had to settle for Campbell and Lescott , I aslo bought in Curtis Davies for 6million. I managed to get my hands on Jaaskalienen , Foster , Neville , Baines , Ronaldo , J Cole , Downing , Fabregas , Scholes , Berbatov , Crouch , Defoe. Not the best sort of squad , but pretty good.
What oustounded me was the lack of the premiership players , that premiership teams didn't want , many of the poorer forigners went back to their own countries , and some of the lesser players (mainly English , went to the championship). ie Gary Cahill , Luke Young and Rob Green all to Sunderland.
This left big gaps in some squads, ones that the managers , even with their budgets didn't want to fill. Sheffield United , have no players , even now , five games into the season. And places like Middlesborough , and Watford , have only a few. Watford , spent their whole budget on David Trezeguet.
So 5 games into the season how does the table stand. Well
1. Arsenal
2. Blackburn
3. Man Utd
4. Fulham
5. Reading
6. Liverpool
7. Chelsea
and the bottom
18. Watford
19. Everton
20. Bolton
Bolton with a -21 goal difference, Chelsea stuffed 11 through them.
Gary Cahill , Luke Young and Rob Green all to Sunderland.
Well Luke Young and Rob Green are probably Championship level. Cahill is a little different in that he is playing in a team that is performing above the sum of it's parts.
You mentioned Wenger going to Arsenal, did you remove they favoured personnel from each club? That would have a big effect on who goes where, as would individuals preferences.

Not much too surprising so far. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Luke Young Championship level? He's a solid Premiership player.
