Default Irish/Welsh Champions League Challenge

Welcome to my 'Irish/Welsh Champions League Challenge'

Many people say that it is near impossible to win the Champions League with an Irish, Northern Irish or Welsh team and I have never heard of anyone that has done it so I came up with this challenge which aims to do that hopefully.

The Aim

Using a team from the Irish 1st Division, the Northern Irish 2nd Division or the Welsh Premier League win the Champions League. Domestic success is not important but really, domestic domination is the 1st step on the path to Champions League Glory!

The Rules

Load up a game with the country of your choice with all leagues of that country using a large database, with no additional players and hidden attributes hidden. Past experience must be set to automatic. There are no rules regarding who your can sign and their nationality. Obviously some teams may be easier to begin with such as T.N.S or Shamrock Rovers but it will down to your personal choice. You may not move clubs unless you are sacked where you can restart your game and or take over a club in one of the teams in the 3 starting leagues using the same profile. Any form of international management is not allowed, until you have completed the challenge (or not ).

Rules for this thread

Player naming and tactical disscussion is allowed. Screenshots for anything are encouraged. When you join the challenge, could you post a screenshot of your manager's profile on the 1st day. Progress of your club should be documented using this thread, we want to hear the story of your club all the way through. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing really badly. At the end of every season, could everyone post some kind of season review, including at least a screenshot of a league table. (I used dafuge's challenge to help with this bit )

Have fun, that is the point of this challenge and hopefully someone will complete the challenge.

Good Luck!

This not sort of similar to Bamble's challenge?

No, not really, his is to win as much as possible within 5 counrtries. This is just win one trophy plus made much harder because you don't have the invlovement of English and Scottish clubs with all their money.

Well im in Wales doing Bambles challenge. And it is very hard to get into the CL as TNS always run away with the league. I think this is the same in N.I and ROI. One team runs away with the league every season.

Anyone else find this?

So to conclude it is to hard a challenge really. And totally unrealistic!!! When have you ever heard of a team from Wales, NI or ROI ever get into the group stages of the CL. I havnt heard of that happen IRL.

It IS very hard to even get to the Group stages with either of those Countries. All though, if someone does do it (without cheating!! ) I'd label them the best Football manager player EVER!!!

It can be done. It's just very very hard and takes a lot of time and effort.

One possible reason that this isn't very popular at the moment is because it appeals to the sort of people who are doing existing challenges such as dafuge's, Gundo's or Bamble's (which I don't know about).

If you are going to introduce a new challenge, maybe you could try and think of something that isn't already being included in other challenges. I am doing Gundo's challenge, and I have taken Lisburn Rovers from non-playable to the N.Irish Premiership. At least 1 other person is patcicipating with an Irish club and I think 2 are managing Welsh clubs.

I got to the 3rd qualifying round of the CL, that was the closest I came with a team from Wales.

Good challenge. But are TNS like an exeption to this?

Easily the best team in there tbh.

And I think someone won the CL with them a few games back...

I will see

Good challenge btw.
