When I crop a picture, erase the background, or even extract the picture, when I put the picture on a transparent background I don't see a white background but when I save it as a jpeg and try to put it in Dreamweaver it has a white background. How do I change this?
jencha1234, jpeg doesn't support transparency. What you'll need to do is save it as a gif - if possible.
The way to accomplish this is described in the Adobe Help - which effectively amounts to mapping colours to transparency - that is, selecting which colour should be shown as transparent.
Or, simplest way - create your image with the option "Save for Web", choose the output type as GIF and make sure you have the transparency tick box selected. This'll then leave it as a transparent image.
Thanks Dodo I was able to save it to GIF and it looks good. I want to email the picture. But after saving it as html & images when it's opened in the email all we see is an outline and a small box with a red X. Am I saving it wrong?
You can't email an html file without sending the images as well. Just won't work.
What you need to do is take a screen shot of the page, open it in Photoshop and adjust the size, pehaps crop off the part that you don't want and then use Save for Web to optimize the image.
After you have saved it then attach that image to your email.
