Benj - Striker - Welsh

18 year old Benj turned up at at Katwijk's training ground with nothing but the football boots he was carrying. It's not sure what his real full name is yet because of his strong Welsh accent and the limited ability to speak English amongst the Katwijk staff. Although we are led to believe that he had run away from his father's sheep farm in the valley's of Wales to pursue his dreams of being a professional footballer.

Javier Rodriguez Birdinha - Striker - Mexican

The youthful Mexican had illegaly travelled half way round the world on a container ship that was transporting various tropical fruits to Spain. His courageous journey at the age of 7 had made him extremely confident in his own ability to do anything.

Yank Der Chain - Striker - American

Brought up in the States as a Wide Reciever where he could have gone on to play Professionally in the NFL. But after watching a proper football match he just had to test himself in the better of the two footballs. Like Ryan Andrews he fell in love with the game and moved to Holland to find a club to play for. Nicknamed Yank Der Chain by his Dutch lodgers and for some reason he got his name changed by deed poll, so he now officially Mr Yank Der Chain.

K.C. Circle - Striker - Belgian

17 year old K.C. Circle was spotted by a friend of mine knocking a ball about by himself on the streets of Brussels. He had a fantastic touch and a keen eye for goal (which was a wall with a chalked on circle). We are led to believe that is where he got his name from.

Cheers lads. Glad you like the little background info on each player.

I'm no writer but enjoy a bit of a laugh. Expect more funny twists and stuff in updates to come. Players look decent enough although the first season wil be tough. Had checked out the other teams and they all look strong.

Hopefully we'll have a decent run which may win us a "period" and qualify for the play-offs.

If there's anything or anyone else I'm missing for now please let me know. :thup:

Injuries hit Katwijk's already depleated squad...

Bad luck strikes again for grieving Katwijk as central defender Luciano Scarinzi fell awkwardly during a training session and will now be out of action for up to 2 months with a spained ankle.

In the same training session Javier Rodriguez Birdinha, who has just signed his first Professional contract, twisted his knee and will be out of action for 2 weeks.

The day got worse when just after the training session [b]Yank der Chain[/d] managed to fall down a flight of stairs and badly damage his hip, resulting in a trip to casualty. He'll be seeing a specialist for about 2 months but won't be expected to return within 3 months.

By the way, hope you don't mind YNWA that I changed your players "middle" name from Yer to der? Sounds a bit better since we're in Holland etc.
