England were the first to attack in the match when on the second minute when Ameobi headed the ball to Thompson who shot the ball way over the crossbar.
Nigeria's came on the 22th minute. Afolabi from his half gave the ball to Martins who was in the English half of the pitch. Martins ran towards the English goal. Below Terry could tackle him he tried to lob Kirkland. However Kirkland did an amazing save to protect the goal and Martins was just very unlucky.
The first goal came on the 68th minute. Jenas gave the ball to his Newcastle teammate Ameobi. Ameobi got into the box and crossed it to Rooney who scored from a vollery.
On the 72th minute Ameobi got a goal against the country of birth. Terry headed the ball to Ameobi who ran through the centre. He forced the goalkeeper off his line and below West could tackle he had a powerful shot and scored.
The third and final goal came on the 79th minute. Hargreaves got the ball and he kicked into space in the Nigerian half. Ameobi got the ball, he beat pass West and scored another powerful shot.

This was an even match but England's (Ameobi's) finishing won them the game. Kirkland and Ameobi will be very happy of their preforming today.

Brazil were the dominate force in this match. They were having the early attacks. England had so but not as many.
The Brazilian and English defences were good at keeping the ball out.
Brazil were satified on the 38th minute. Amoroso had a freekick. He kicked the ball and it hit the crossbar. Luckily (or unluckily for England) Chelsea's Diego was close by and tapped it into the goal.
Rooney tried to get a game back a minute later but the Brazilian goalie forced a corner.
England got a goal on the 57th minute. Gerrard won a header from Alecu. The ball went to Rooney who controled it well and ran throught the centre into the ball. When he was free from the last defence and the goalie came out he kicked the ball with his right foot and scored and got England back into the match.
Brazil got a load more attacks, but it was England that got the goal to win the match. On the 79th minute during a Brazilian corner Barry headed the ball upfield. Ferdinard releaved it and gave Rooney who was running a lovely 45 yard pass. Rooney boared down on goal but he was unable to do anything. He attempted to cross it to Owen. Lauro tried to save it but only defected it and Owen scored.
Brazil piled on the pressure on England but the English defence and goalkeeper made sure that Brazil couldn't get the goal they deserved.

Diego (Chelsea) had a good match and won man of the match, but rest of the Brazilian team got 7s. England's key preformers were Kirkland, Ferdinard, Gerrard and Rooney: all getting 8s.

Kirkland 8, Johnson 6 (Hargreaves on 72 min 6), Barry 7, Campbell 7, Ferdinard 8, Beckham 7, Richardson 7, Gerrard 8 (Jenas on 57 min 7), Thompson 7, Ameobi 6 (Owen on 72 min 7), Rooney 8

Saturday 8th September 2007
Ireland vs. England
Lansdowne Road, Dublin

The last time England played in Ireland was in 1995 during the infamous 'friendly' that was cancelled.
England are the favourites once again with odds of 4-7. The bookies gave Ireland 4-1 and a draw was 5-2.

Ireland
GK Shay Givan
DR Steve Finnan
DL Ian Harte
DC Andy O'Brien
DC John O'Shea

MR David Beckham
ML Kieran Richardson
MC Steven Gerrard
MC David Thompson
FC Shola Ameobi
FC Wanye Rooney

Darren Kenton

England went on the early attack when Richardson gave the ball to Rooney on the 50th second. Rooney went into the box but shot the ball wide.
England seemed to have a change on the 5th minute to get an early lead when Reid shoved Ameobi in the area. Beckham went up to take tha penalty; hopes were high. But they were dashed when he skyed it.
In the first half Thompson took a lot of long shots, but most were harmless and didn't scare the Irish.
Ireland's first very change came on the 13th minute when Reid gave the ball to O'Conner who was in space. O'Conner ran forward into the English box, but was he shot it wide.
Lee gave England a scary moment on the 19th minute when Connolly crossed the ball to Lee. Lee headed it but Kirkland was able to grab hold of it.
On the 58th minute Thompson did a long ball towards Ameobi who headed it away from O'Shea. Rooney got the ball and changed at the goal. Given ran out and saved the ball and then got a hold of it.

England should have won this match. They dominated most of it but Given was pretty much superman today. Beckham and Thompson were very disappointing. Rooney, Gerrard and Ameobi played well but were nackered afterwards.
The key preformers for England were Kirkland and Johnson.

Kirkland 8, Johnson 8, Barry 7, Dawson 7, Ferdinard 7, Beckham 4 (Dyer on 45 min 7), Richardson 7, Gerrard 7 (Hargreaves on 72 min 7), Thompson 4 (Jansen on 65 min 7), Ameobi 7, Rooney 7

Ireland 0
England 0
Beckham miss pen 5
