This was a very even match. England dominated throughout the first half, Romania was the main force in the second.
England only got one goal in the match, but that was all they needed. The goal came on the 35th minute. Beckham had a freekick at a slight angle. When he took the shot Lobont parried it away, but it was invain because Rooney got the rebound and scored an easy goal.
On the 54 minute England added insult to injury when Cernat was taken off injuried and is now out with an torn calf muscle.
Kirkland 8 mom, Johnson 7, Barry (Terry subbed on 75 min 6), Dawson 7, Ferdinard 8, Beckham 7, Richardson 7 (Pennant on 75 min 6), Gerrard 7 (Hargreaves on 62 min 7), Thompson 7, Chorpra 7, Rooney 7

It stayed 1-nil during the first half until the 60th minute. England had a corner which Beckham took, Ameobi headed the ball in the goal.
Ameobi got a second goal like that on the 79th minute and scored his 10th goal for England.
