Default Football Management 101 (LOTR Challenge)

Course: Football Management 101

Place: University of Grey Haven

Semester: Spring

Teacher: Professor Gandalf

Student Elegibility: Everybody who has completed Football 101

Tuition Fee: N/A, but bring your own lembas

Course Description: This course will guide you into the secrets of managing a football team (see Football 101). This will prove helpful once we figure out how to travel to the recently discovered alternate universe known as Lower Earth, as the inhabitants here seems to have very high opinions about this game. The course will use a simulator to take you through some different phases designed to give you a broad yet thorough introduction to football management. The phases are:

Phase 1. Basic football management: Squad analysis, tactics, transfers, staff. This will take place in a topflight club in the area known as Scotland.

Phase 2. Lower league management: Promotions. Use your honed skills to take a lowly placed team in Scotland up to the top flight.

Phase 3. Stabilizing: Avoiding relegations. Dealing with low reputation. Once on the top you need to avoid the drop.

Phase 4. Managing in other countries. Different cultures. Different rules. Different languages. Now it's time to go to the mainland and take a lowly placed team from the area known as Italy to the top flight.

Phase 5. Setting goals for yourself. Beating rivals. Planning ahead. Now it's time to pick a team in Southern Scotland (aka. England), where the professor will give you a goal and show you how to reach it.

Phase 6. Budget crisis. Motivation. Using what you've got. Staying with the team and surviving.

Phase 7. Youth academy and free transfers. Growing yough players. Spotting the forgotten gold. Droping to a low-division team in England you must take them to the top.

Phase 8. International competitions. Champions Cup. UEFA Cup. How to bring European glory to your club.

Phase 9. Summary. Return to Scotland and apply the lessons learned.

Authors notes:

There will be little if any LOTR references in this story, but I have a diffent idea in mind:

As this is a course, I would like some students present to make the story interactive. If you're ready for that, please sign in on your first visit by posting a "Present" e.g "Doctor Who is present, Professor Gandalf. Sorry for being late." Once you've enrolled, feel free to ask questions to the professor or throw pencils at you fellow students, or whatever students do these days.

If you would like to post something outside the story, please do so in Italics.

Carrplos here, Mr Wizard

I'll sit in one of the back corners, as I don't like having people both in front and back of me, nor left and right of me.

Can we leave class early?
