I'd strongly advise against using full detail unless you have a super powerful computer!

I believe that Full detail simulates all matches using the match engine, that you know from the game.
Switching it off would cause matches outside your current division to be simulated with a quicker and less complex match engine.
Basicly, Full details have no practical use, but it slows the game significantly.
