I am onto phase 2. I have taken over at Reading who finished 14th in div 2 after my second season. If you consider this to be a team in a good position to go up I can revert to the old save at end of season 2 with newcastle. If not I will carry on.

Aaargh! I should have used CM 01/02 I reckon or used a less interesting league like France or whatever with fewer divisions than Norway cos my game takes ages

4 at the 3rd tier, then the standard 2 leagues above that.
I would start over, but I've already started the story and I like Norway so I'll just plod on slowly giving more detail than I would otherwise on Phase 1!
