In my game towards the end of the 1st season i have noticed that a number of big name teams dont have youth academies

for example:
from the premier league wigan doesnt
from french ligue 1 valenciennes doesnt
from argentina both boca juniors and rosaria central amongst others dont
and most surprisingly from spain all these teams dont have youth academies:
valencia, sevilla, zaragoza, espanyol, deportivo, getafe, real betis, mallorca and others

is this something wrong with my game, a bug, or is this how it is meant to be??

cause i was quite surprised

how do you know they dont have youth academy?do you mean that they dont have youth team..?

There are 2 ways 2 find out, 1 is editor and the other is by clicking on "Club name" and then information, then check youth facilities

Ok i know this is not the answer to your question, but one thing i noticed is when a club doesn't have a Youth accademy it gets much more local regens...
Tried an experiment with Shakhtar Donetsk:
When i removed youth accademy with the editor I mostly got player from the Donbass region (where donetsk is located), when i added the accademy again and restarted the game i seemed to have regens from all over ukraine. tried this a couple of times and that seems to be the case. You can try that and see what results you get.

in my game,most of the teams that you mentioned has youth facilities.I dont know whether its a bug or not.but then again,im in the fourth season now.

no those clubs dont have youth academy.

i dont understand the reason behind that, and never will. ;-) ask the chairman/manager why they dont have one.

Sevilla have a number of youth facilities as I understand it. They are one of THE most pro-active clubs in youth development.

I am sure I have read recently that they have around 500 full-time scouts worldwide and that they have an entirely seperate training facility (called academies in the UK) for their youth structure of around 100 teams.

Portsmouth's youth setup has only recently been given academy status in real life.

so you think this is just normal and with time in game they will get youth academies??

by the way for the 2nd poster i found out by going to that clubs screen and going to information and looking in there as another person said
