Cup fixtures are 80% of the time married with that same team in the league?

Always. Its not really that big of a problem, but it rarely happens.!

Im Carshalton, and my fixtures looks like this..

Southport - Setanta Shield 4th Rnd
Southport - Blue Square Premier
Dag & Red - Blue Square Premier
Southport - FA Trophy 2nd Round
Braintree - Blue Square Premier
Grays - Blue Sqaure Premier
Grays - FA Trophy 3rd Round

Why is it always like this?

IRL Everton play West Ham away in the league this month and also play them 4 days later (also at Upton Park) in the Carling Cup.

If you think about it, there are so many alternate realities being played out by FM players this sort of thing is bound to happen from time to time.

Arsenal and Boro played each other 4 times in a month a few years back. United played Villa twice in a row last season (maybe another game in between, don't think so..)

And you are bound to notice when this happens way more than when it doesn't, magnifying the occurance and giving it added weight in your memory each time it happens.

I assumed people would pluck times IRL when it has happened, like Arsenal v Liverpool In Carling Cup / FA Cup / Prem last year, (maybe year before)

But, IRL it happens randomly to random teams.

In FM, it always seems to happen to the User controlled team.

Only noticed this recently but very true yeah-if you were really bored you could predict your cup games at the start of the season sometimes. Also, is it just me or do the teams that are fighting it out for the title at the end of the season always play the same teams as each other in their last five or six matchs?
