I bought it in a FM 08 Box, The DVD had FM 08 wrote on it, When I install it it says FM 08 on the start up, Made by Sega and SI...
Well I patched it from an SI official Link and im playing on a normal SI Database.
So this brings me to ask, Why is everyone and their mothers complaining about what a **** game this is... how they cant score one on ones, how their strikers and doing cartwheels instead of headers and how their defense is wearing Tu-Tu's. Not to mention the Keeper eats a bacon butty during a penalty kick.
BUT SERIOUSLY There are more posts on here about how SI suck balls and how this game is bugged to hell than anywhere else i have ever seen. If i was SI id feel very offended as they have released a gem of a game in a great series.
I currently have 3 games running,
Arsenal 4 years Old
Notts County 2 Years Old
Boston UTD 1.5 years Old
Palermo 0.5 years old
In each game i can win/loose/score/miss. I have experienced no bugs, No random "OMFG" moments like Arsene Wenger signing as Tottenham Manager, Nothing out of the ordinary. Yes the game can be improved but so can every game. But what people need to look at is tweaking Tactics, Training, Management... instead of blaming SI for Bugs. The game is full of useful tips like how to play in wet weather and pitch sizes etc... read them, take note, and dont blame SI as soon as a striker misses an open goal on a muddy pitch.
Seriously this is ment to be a game and the way some of you are taking this... Demanding refunds because Regen's have affros or you cant score from corners... Seriously... Give SI a break and tweak you tactics... Experiment with your team.
And no the game isnt full of bugs, but this forum is full of whiners.

Are you saying that your players score a large % of their 1v1's? That you don't think your players miss more sitters than their real life counterparts?
Good post mate and some good points. Everyone who thinks that it's SI's fault that they've lost to an 'offside' goal in the last minute, Read this. Before slagging them off, check your tactics, training style of play and more.

Have you seen Adebayor in IRL he is aweful scoring about 1 in 5 "Decent Chances" his strike rate/Finishing is very below average.
My strikers who i have used in my Arsenal Game (Adebayor, Gilardino, RVP, Sturrage) have always had an AMC behind them in a free role. One striker has Hold ball up option on. I can comfortably say I have a 2.3 Goals per match over 194 Games, Dont forget thats including games vs Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Chelsea... and other great teams, winning 138/194 thats 2/3.
This shows my strikers are constant, My tactics are fluid and good, My morale is "Superb" on each first team player, My reserves play the same tactic and win comfortably. My point is tweak the way your team plays and you will not fail. It just takes time and people expect instant success! I change my tactic about every 50 games as the AI seems to catch on and counter it... So if your struggling just tweak away.
If you desperatly need to see my tactics i will post them but not now as its half the fun working it out for yourself.
The big one for me is the one-on-one situation. It's not as if my strikers ever slide the ball past the 'keeper, only to see it roll harmlessly against the advertising boards. They ALWAYS drill it at the 'keeper's chest! It's infuriating!

You have avoided my question not answered it. Saying 1 player is bad at 1v1's irl does not explain every player being bad at it in fm. I do not need your tactics my board seem to think i am doing well and who am i to argue with them. Stop being smug and patting yourself on the back. Let me remind you you are playing with arguably the best team in the league. Answer the question/s asked of you they seemed fairly straight-forward.
