Oh trust me im no Fanboi... Last 3 seasons ive been playing CM, and to be honest i found them better than the FM's of the same year. Only changed this year due to release dates and being bored. Quote: |
Let me remind you you are playing with arguably the best team in the league
| Let me also remind you i am also playing as Palermo, Boston UTD and Notts County... and also topping leagues and having great cup runs using the same tactics but much different players.
As for your Question... Yes i am saying they score a large number of 1v1 Definetly around 50% which is a very fair figure. But in lower league i must admit this slips down to about 30% But then again what can you expect when a player has 10 finishing?

Well surely the keepers aren't exactly world class there either, are they?

All being said, Certainly I’m a fan of the game playing from the very first CM game hot seating and now online in a Clan but and it’s a massive but!
All these guys bombarding the boards with Valid bug reports even if they add there own little moan at Si are worth a hundred fold more than the original post. Yes any praise is welcome to the lads but it’s the Bugs that really gets them going I bet.

| Nobody has actually picked up on this but it should tell us something.
The best way to miss a one on one is to blast it, yet that's what they always do.
Never try to round the keeper.
Never try to chip or lob him.
Never slip it past him as he comes out.
Paul C is categorical that the ME doesn't create misses or super GK's to keep a balanced scoreline, it's logical to conclude then that they are poor chances or our strikers are doing something wrong.
They don't seem to be poor chances to me which begs a question or two.

I'm also enjoying this FM game, but it is flawed and the match engine has gone backwards, even after the patch. Once that's fixed though and one or two little annoyances are taken out it'll easily beat FM2007.

Can you see a slider in the tactics which it makes sense it having the effect on the percentage of 1v1's converted. I don't. So not sure how you can take credit for discovering something that if it exists makes absolutely no sense at all. Seems like could oly be acheived through luck and/or trial and error. The problem is if there is such a clear and obvious error that is noticeable to so many people (whether it is with some tactics or most tactics) then one has to question how many stupid things are going on with the match engine which you can not see. If many attributes are not being used properly by the match engine and they are not so easy to spot again the problem will arise that you do not really deserve the succcess that you are getting. You might be buying players who are terrible attribute wise for the style you are trying to play...yet the match engine thinks that they are in fact brilliant for it. Same thing goes for training a certain attrib up or holding onto specific youngsters for whatever reason. Sure i could try to do some really stupid things eg trying many through balls with a striker with little pace, putting only short players going up for attacking set pieces and staying back for defensive ones, but if some of these worked it would not make me a genius.

| I can honestly say that, while immediately after the patch it seemed that my strikes couldn't score at all, now their success rate at 1v1's is very good indeed.
I'd say that I've scored almost 3 goals per game (in about 18 games) and have about 15 shots per game on average.

Main problem is people don't realize that this is a game and they want it 100% perfect.
This is as close as you can get to the real thing but if its not enough why don't you try your hand at management in real life... find a local pub, stick an advert for players in... there you go... You are now a manager.
Still bet they will come back complaining that they tried to fine a striker for turning up to a game still ****ed and the one on one bug is still being found in Sunday League and coming to the forums writing "ZOMFG RELEASE PATCH PLZ" Bah most likely last post on these forums, too many whiners, too little time to try and **** them all off with smart "immature" comments.
