Default To Those who have started with a Lower League Team, and taken them up through the Divisions:

Basically, I was just wondering how much success you have had with stadium expansions, or new stadiums and the like.

Moreso, the new stadiums as in FM07, I could never get a new stadium, no matter how long I waited. In fairness, I was probably just very unlucky.

Anyway, has anyone took a lower league team to the top division, become rich, and had a mega stadium built for them, or something respectably big for their respective leagues.

Maybe people doing the Dafuge challenge would be ideal candidates to answer my question, as I am plying in England, which my hometown club, Chesterfield - not quite BSS/BSN, but a lower league club nonetheless.

Yeah, my original point - new stadiums anyone?

I'm telford and after 15 years managed to get them from BSN to the premiership.

The stadium kept being expanded every year by about 800 seats. Then the upgraded stadium bug hit me where the expansion amount turned into my capacity amount. So in the championship I had a stadium which held 800.

The next year in the premiership, I applied for another expansion, for them to come back to me with plans for a 25000 all seater new stadium .

That is very good to know. This in on FM08 right?

And congratulations on that career.

Also, to sJr, how were your finances at the point where you got a new stadium?

My first game I took Chippenham to League 1, although the game was ruined by a bug.

With the patch I have taken Tiverton to League 1.

Two people have completed it already

Harsh luck with the bug.
But at least your pulling it back now with Tiverton.

Two people already - Wow. Can't be bad.
Do you see Tiverton as future Champions League Winners?

On topic, have you had any upgrades with your stadium? And a bit off topic, how are your finances?

I'm not sure, I've got a feeling that an unjust Staines-like sacking could happen sometime in the future.

My stadium is still in its original state, 3500 with 400 seats. Finances are ok, about £1.2m in the bank, but I'm still pretty small time. I'm yet to spend a penny on a player.

Ahh, lets hope not.

Cheers, fair enough, how do you do monthly, profit/loss?

Because with Chesterfield, I'm well under wage budget, and have some issue with making money, I make a loss of about 50K a month.

And, I'm in the same boat, no money on a player yet, free transfers shape my team until there's someone I really want. Yet to happen so far.
