Its relatively useless. The best use of it is to put hard tackling on players who are injured already, show tricky, one-footed wingers onto their weaker foot, and close down defenders who are poor at passing, dribbling and composure. Not much else really. I don't do it every game.
There are LOADS of tactical adjustments you can make with "opposition instructions"
You need to analyse the formation, quality and speed of their players so that you make the most of your strengths and take advantage of their weaknesses.
Here are just a few;
1) If they have striker(s) with pace higher than your centre backs, then use the team "defend deep" slider
2) If their tactic has no wingers, then "focus passing down flanks" and play "wide"
3) If their centre backs are slower than your fast striker, then use him as a target man running onto the ball, with him making forward runs
4) Show opposition strikers onto their weaker feet if they have a preferred foot. If strikers are right-only or left-only, then show them onto the opposite foot
5) If they have a striker with strength under 10/20, then set tackling on him to hard
Need i go on? Just see where you can counter their abilities
GK - Close and show weaker foot.
This I apply to all defenders aswell
And the wide players
Strikers I always mark tightly, tackle hard and show weaker foot.
Have to say its a bit of a pain having to do it for every game. There should be a way of saving these so you can just click a button to re-do them. You could have a different set saved for each formation you might come across
Yeah. Whether they are just classed as playing normal midfield or Attacking Midfield. Not sure what effect it has if I am honest! But I still do it just in case!
