Sounds so harsh!

Start of season update

I've had a good built up to the new season by playing 4 friendly's and winning 3. (4-2 Penafiel, 4-1 Beira-Mar, 1-0 Everton and 1-2 Barcelona). I've seen some of my players excel and some didn't really impress.

I've played 3 official games. 5-1 win against Amadora (first game of the season) and a 1-2 loss against Sporting (after i beat them in the super cup).

I won the SuperCup against Sporting CP with 2-1. They're still way too hard for me

Walter Baseggio - Mainly just a backup
Fabio Rochemback - Will play in the MCd role
Eduardo - Looks a great goalkeeper to take over from Quim
Cláudio Pitbull - I rate this player very highly. 3 gls in 3 games and 1 assist gives him a 7.67 rating so far.
Danilinho - Not sure yet, just incase Biglia left. But he didn't. Too much MCs atm
Georginio Wijnaldum - Looks a great youngster
Vitaly Kutuzov - brought in to replace Angel Di Maria
Macaulay Chrisanthus - Great youngster

fabio- good bet, will be called for national team a couple of times
danilinho- will improve at least 1 point in all stats
georgino- will take two or three years to show his true potencial

Hi people, just thought i'd add that i have recently started a game with Benfica. Have to say you start with a really good set-up regarding players & ground etc. Currently i'm in January 08, still in all competitions and with a healthy lead at the top of the table(mainly down to Sporting and Porto having terrible starts). Signings i've made include Ignashevich, Banega, Lulinha, Belluschi & Daniel Carvalho.

Starting line up is Quim, Ignashevich, David Luiz, Luisao, Miguelito, Banega, Di Maria, Belluschi, D.Carvalho, Cardozo, Nuno Gomes.

Cardozo has been averaging at a goal per game. Dont know if anyone else has found that he seems to be a key player? I must admit i'm having trouble getting a good partner for him and i tend to rotate his strike partners.

Just wondering if anyone else is currently playing as Benfica? And if anyone has any hints or tips or even good players they recommend?..

This saved game has the potential to become very addictive! Thanks...

not really, i always sell him, he's too slow and has bad positioning but the other stats are good for a target player. Cesar Delgado might be a good partner for him, he playes very well with any other striker. another option is aguero at the start of 2nd season if you have the money to buy him.


i think that Leo playes better then Miguelito.


try getting Tim Wiese for free, his contract expires after 1 season and he has better stats then Quim and is younger, usually he will only accept to join 1 month before the contract expires.
try getting Christian pander for free, his contract expires after 1 season and he has very good stats, usually he will only accept to join 1 month before the contract expires.
after the 1st season ends, get Leo tutoring Tiago Gomes, even thought we wont get amazing stats he will play very well, in my game Tiago Gomes had a rating of 7.50 at end of 3rd season.
get Belluschi tutoring Fabio Coentrao and after that he will play very well, excellent backup for di maria or belluschi.
the weak point in your teams is the DCs speed. try getting faster DCs.
