Default Clan thread announcement

Just to add to the stickies atm

From now on any applicant threads, update threads will be closed. There are too many threads corresponding to the one clan. It clutters the forum. Each clan will be allowed one thread only.

The clan thread is like granny's soup , you put everything but the kitchen sink into it. That means all drivel, all applicants, all restarts the lot.

The thread is like a tree. Let it grow arms and legs, the clan boss will control the direction. .

We will review this in 3 mos after the forum has been tidied up a bit.

Question.

The original applicant thread will be closed if two are on atm?

We've just started an update thread, I'd rather that one stay open.

thing is the applicant thread is your clan start off, advertising for new players, it should then develop into a full blooded clan thread

I think this is a good idea.

I think the mods/helpers should also be available to change the thread titles from - "Blah Blah Clan" to things like "Blah Blah Clan (Now Accepting Applications Again)".

Just a thought

I don't know if this has been considered but perhaps make CM4 Online a header and divide it into the following sub forums?

Cm4 online Clan/game Recruitment forum

Cm4 online Clan/game reports/meets forum

Cm4 online technical help forum

That would make things tidier and means anyone who's looking for a game can go to the appropriate forum and have all non relevant recruiting threads away from view etc etc.

While those voyeur's who enjoy watching what's going on in various games and who's coming good can find out stuff etc etc.

And finally the last forum would be handy for struggling new(and old) users getting on or setting up an on-line game.

I think this would be productive, clean the boards up a bit more which may encourage more users and finally allow mods to appropriately apply themselves to where they would excel best.

There aren't enough clans recruiting, writing reports and people wanting technical help for them all to have their own forum.

Perhaps if there were specific forums for them all there would be greater encouragement of the userbase to partake and create though?

As it is I'm looking at the front page and I see techie problems lost amongst clan recruitment which I can't identify real games from.

I'm just concerned that perhaps the currently just implemented measures will make things too complicated for the newer userbase.

Also I'm not sure how much additional resources it would use to segregate the forums like these but I personally feel you gotta start somewhere.
