Ok Hi all

Thought i would pen a few thoughts over whats going to be happening with the forum over the next couple of weeks. The FMO over the last few months has stagnated and almost ground to a halt what with the impending release of the new game and general loss of interest. Anyway we have plans and the following are the plans for the forum.

The new faq with all relevent port info for the new game will be up and running prior to new game release.

The clan application thread will remain and be maintained by Goldy.

The player application thread will remain and be maintained by Marlow.

There will be a new shortterm game thread where those not wanting to play longterm games and instead want to play instantly. If they want to advertise the format for example could be

"one off game starting tonight quakenet #shortermgame at 930"

All shortterm games will be placed in here and in the interest of forum tidyness any not will be closed and deleted.

There will be a new forum header name "FMO SCENE" Here FMO clan webmasters can link their services and various external FMO related websites and forums. We have been too anal in the past with regards monopolising this forum and other sites for example like Deanos fabulous UFMIG site-forum and Dez's Superb FMCLANS website can now be linked to the people that come in and show an interest in FMO.

The Established clans title and badge will remain, with a new logo appearing for the new game. A new slightly changed format will be introduced with already longterm clan games still running in CM03/04 having deemed to already having been proved as steady reliable big games and will not have to reapply for this status. Word of warning so there are no surprises, a few of the listed are losing their status and will have to start from scratch.

The clans that will remain with title are as follows

UFMIG
EPL Challenge
EFB
FMELClan
World Clan
FM-Fanatics

and one newcomer if they continue into FMOO5 the OTF mob

So thats about it for now, the next month should prove to be an exciting one for the FMO community.

I have allocated the jobs out and i will have the spade work done whilst on nightshift on saturday and sunday night, with a target of the forum being ready for Monday 1st November.

Can those preselected as established clans have their new FM2005 Clan threads started even if i close them till the new game starts. Its so when i tidy up the forum headers i can immediately link them in.

There has been quite a bit of behind the scenes work in all aspects of the FMO Forum and we should certainly see the forum rise back from the half dead with the release of FM.

You'll notice that the Available Players thread and Clan Advertising thread will have an update on them in regards of the format, basically to include which version of the game the person wants to be involved in.

Currently revising a simple format for the Short Term Games Thread, this should keep things a bit tidier within the thread and also should present all the information someone would need about the game involved.

Established Clans, well Dogs has been looking into this more than myself but I will say that it will be reviewed on a daily basis and clans can come and go to that list.

Now onto a topic I'm very keen on ever since I heard about it a couple of weeks back, its of course Dez's creation of fmclans.com website, you all got to have a sneak peak when the url was given out in the off topic discussion thread and saw just how excellent the development has been.

I am very impressed and of course with the likes of hosting being offered, somewhere i dont have a clue about, its gives myself and any other new clans a chance to put a website without even having the knowledge

So I will be working with Dez and Ali on getting a lot of exposure for fmclans as it will be without doubt a brilliant thing for the forum, for both experience and new users.

Of course, don't forget, we are always open for suggestions when it comes to the forum, so just contact us and let us know

yeah i agree Goldy hence the idea was born for the FMO scene thread. Websites like this need the exposure they deserve. And hopefully by producing a facility inthread we can start to channel traffic through to these gaming FMO sites

OK I will make it ready around friday. Good to see you people still around here. Hope some more people will find their way to FMO than the past months .

Its certainly good to see the continued hard work Thats gone on with regards to ensuring that this forum will be back in full swing in preparation for the new game release. It was inevitible that there would be lull in activity around here as people gear up for FM's arrival, but its almost like the quiet before the storm and as such its nice to see the hatches being nailed shut in time for us all to go out and dance in the rain (is that not the best/worst analogy ever?!?!)

With regards to my own project http://www.fmclans.com I'm pleased with the positive feedback I've received so far and believe me it makes the hard work I've put in so far all the more worthwhile. There's still a lot of work to be done to get the site where I want it to be in time for FM's release.

Thats where the members of this forum come in. If you have anything you think you can bring to the table - be it content suggestions, or whether you'd like to take advantage of the services we are offering or even getting involved in the running of the site - just get in touch.

All this work has gotten a bit in the way of my own preparations for the GQ Game which will of course be coming back for more fun & frivolities :thup:

Bring on FM I say!!

Looking for some quite nights in the hotel then?

The usual high standard of organisation we all have come to expect from you Alex. I'm looking forward to FM2005 online after the last couple of crap offerings from SI, the gold demo looked very promising and the enthusiasm is on the way back.
