Planet Stevenage : The Curse Is Still With Us.........But Also Is Some Joy!!
Fans of Stevenage, fans of the Boro, once more domination doesnt seem enough in football anymore, despite all the chances under the moon we're still dropping too many points and thankfully so are the teams around us. Hopefully something will change sometime soon as its just taking the **** now with the scoring curse over the club. Thankfully though, Semler has been there most of the time to score in the dying seconds when they finally did allow us to have something to celebrate!
Well lets see how its going in this mid-season run in.......
Premiership Visiting The Theatre Of Nightmares is: Darren Gray's Red Devil's
Well it was time for the team who are leading the Premiership to pay us a visit at Broadhall Way, not just leading the Premiership, but they are currently unbeaten in the league after over 20 games and have been completely walking all over anything infront of them with five goals being the average scoreline when Utd are involved, all that since Mr Gray took over! Well he came to the smallest premiership club looking to secure three more points.......**** that! We need the points more than these rich boys! So we kicked them out of Europe earlier in the season and this time, we put a nice little 1 marker under the loss column

It was a close game but the Stevenage attack was just too hot for the old Utd defence and ran riot with two goals from Semler, a goal from Advaldo and club captain Juliusson. No one saw this one coming and it couldnt have come at a better time
Final Score : Stevenage 4 - 1 Man Utd Semler (2), Advaldo, Juliusson Visiting St.Andrews To Play : Birmingham
We very much expected a win here after our last result and it certainly looked like another goal frenzy, key word was "looking" there as play went all our in this game. We had a cracking two goal lead with the man who can scoring another double, you guessed, Semler on target when required. Brum got a goal but it was in the 92nd minute after our defence appeared to already gone home! Still, three points to take home with us and much needed.
Final Score : Birmingham 1 - 2 Stevenage Visiting Broadhall Way is : Andy's Tigers
Another low key event this one, not even the eastern european tv channels wanting to broadcast it! But never the less, we carried on anyway. Hull took the lead and then continued a bit of boring action before we had half time. We got an equaliser and there could have been a goal for either side after that as both had a couple of cracking chances but a draw is a fair result in this boring game........which i blame the opponents for
Final Score : Stevenage 1 - 1 Hull Advaldo Visiting Highfield Road to face : Coventry
Well it was a case of, the Sky Blues scoring first after a rainstorm of shots at the Coventry goal from us and not even getting one. Seems keepers are playing their best ever games against us, every keeper, every game! It was the captain who got the more than deserved equaliser, seems to score just when its really needed, one of many games this season were we have lost 2 points!
Final Score : Coventry 1 - 1 Stevenage Juliusson Visiting Broadhall Way is : Middlesborough
Well if there is any team in this league that we started to really like playing then it has to be Boro, after beating them last season, I knew the lads could do it again and they didnt let me down either! A good performance once more by Semler as he grabbed a brace, the other goal was scored by moany dane Rommedahl!
Final Score : Stevenage 3 - 1 Middlesbrough Semler(2), Rommedahl
News in is that Broadhall Way has had its stadium expansion work completed, a total of 5034 extra seats where built meaning our capacity now rises to a massive 13888!!
Visiting Ewood Park To Play : Blackburn
After creating some absolute cracking chances we just couldnt put that ball into the back of the net, Rovers went close a couple of times but we finally managed to break the dead lock in the second half with an unlikely scorer as it was right back Wayne Thomas who advanced forward and headed in a cross.
Final Score : Blackburn 3 - 1 Stevenage Thomas Visiting Broadhall Way is : Wolves
Wolves had two shots in the first 20minutes, of course, they scored from their first shot aswell as Chopra scored after 3 defenders didnt even bother challenging him. That was all they had to offer in this game, for the rest of the game Wolves never had a shot, not a sausage........but they still got a draw! Absolutely unbelievable, another 2 points dropped after the shots were raining on the Wolves goal. It really must be a curse or superman conviently drops by every saturday to play for the opposition!
Final Score : Stevenage 1 - 1 Wolves Hidalgo
We also signed Portugese Vieirinha who played pretty well in both the games he has been involved in and looks very promising on doing a good job for us in the Premiership. With Steve Jackson out for 2months he is a much needed player for our strike force. We gotta score somehow and hopefully he will be part of the answer!
The plan for the rest of the season is to try and fight off Chelsea and Spurs for that 4th and final Champions league spot. Its pretty tight but if we can get a good run of wins then its without a doubt in our reach and would be more than amazing for a club of this size to be in europe's biggest competition. This week's session has seen us go 7 games unbeaten which is certainly good but we got too many draws for my liking and the dropping of points is very frustrating when we easily deserved more!
More news and action after Thursday when we will also see Uefa Cup action!
