This challenge is using the "free" database. This database has all the players on free transfers at the beginning of the game. The first season has been played through on holiday without any human managers and players take up the challenge of taking Arsenal to the Premiership, FA cup, League cup and Champions League as quickly as possible.
This sounds pretty easy but take a look at Arsenal's squad here and now what about Chelsea who should be the toughest challenge you face though don't underestimate Spurs who have signed Fernando Torres!!!! The first season ended with Arsenal in fourth in the League Table so the challenge can be completed in one season but that'll take a great effort!!!! The savegame that you have to start with is HERE .
This challenge is designed for people that want a challenge which doesn't last as long as some of the other ones and so hopefully will be quick and fun. I hope this is looked at as being a bit different as i've not really seen a challenge to similar to this though sorry if I missed it!!!!
There has been lots of other interesting transfers in the first season so top players should be more difficult to get hold of as there contrats will only have started at most a year ago but there are still players available on free transfers if you want to go down that route.
The only rules are that you must take over at Arsenal at the start of the game, you must use the savegame provided to make it an even playing field. You are welcome to discuss signings and tactics as you see fit!! Just to note I'm not an Arsenal fan and feel this may appeal to supporters of any club!!!
Good luck to anyone taking part and feel free to make any suggestions for future similar challenges or ask questions with regards to rules if there is anything that you are not sure of.
This looks like it may be worth a go. One question though, why have Arsenal bought such **** players? I mean look at Chelsea and Spurs in comparison. The Gooners brought in just one household name in the form of Baptista, but surely they have just as much if not more pulling power than Spurs?

I'm not to sure to be honest!! As I said I just left it on holiady for first season so it was computer's choice!! I started a different "free transfer" game and Liverpool and Arsenal didn't really buy anyone for no apparent reason and were both down the bottom after 10 games or so. Don't know if anyone else could shed light on it?!!
Also Baptista I think because of his loan and future transfer option Arsenal didn't technically buy him it was just setup on the game!! Although thinking about it I think that the chairman has changed which would explain it because if there was board takeover rumours/possible announcement then there would have been transfer embargo and therefore Arsenal wouldn't be able to sign anyone. With there squad they did really well to finish fourth to be fair!!
If you use the free transfer database that I have got then some big teams have really low wage budgets like Man Utd and Arsenal went down in a game of mine! If you start a game I tend to put all teams have 1mill wage budget or something to make it balanced so everyone has the same chance of everyone else.
