They will just drop off the page or be automatically locked after three months of inactivity.

Was also thinking there were starting to be too many, and most just don't even really get started because of lack of interest in them now because there are so many.

Just a quick question.

When making a sign-up you ask them for (lets say) 3 strong technical, 3 strong physical and 2 strong mental. What number do you put in the editor for them? And what do you put the rest of the stats as?

I know this will sound really, really strange ........ but .......... I tend to think that thee is way too much crap starting up in this Section.

There should be a limit to the amount of sign ups people can enter at once as you tend to end up with the same people in the same sign ups all the time. I'm in 2 and I think that's more than enough.

Challenges are completely different as good ones will always run and run, whilst crap ones will falter and die. I used to like the idea of a Sign up (especially when I did the Misfits - Sigh!!). However, I do tend to find them mundane now (apart from the 2 that I'm in!! ) because they seem to have lost their originality and once a Country has been done, it's been done!!

Looking back, I think SI made the right decision to limit the amount of sign ups in the first place. There are very few that last the distance due to committment from the original poster.

I think a NEW rule should be brought in that if you start a Sign Up and then after a few weeks say, "Sorry, can't continue, haven't got the time" then you should be stopped from starting another one!! It's posts like that that are clogging up the Section.

Quality over Quantity I believe should be the order of the day and if you can't fill one up without using the several people who are in all of them (you know who you are!! ) then I believe that it shouldn't go ahead.

Challenges - Again, there do seem to be a lot of people who will start a Challenge and then another one comes along and so they start that one instead. I think this is why you don't get Challenges lasting either.

What this does suggest (and I'll probably get shot down in flames for mentioning this) is were SI right in the first place to say that they didn't really want Sign Ups and Challenges on the Forum and that they should be held away from the Forum to save space, time and effort on their part????

As I said, (those who know me will realise why I'm saying this) it may sound strange coming from me when I've had the successful Misfits Sign Up, the still successful and ongoing OOTP Managers Sign Up and also a decent Challenge that is still going, all be it with only a few partakers.

BUT!! I do feel that there does seem to be a lot of drivel sometimes on this particular thread and I even find myself thinking, FFS I wish SI would do something about it!! Especially the useless Sign Ups and Challenges were people come on and post for a week or two and then give it up, or the Challenges that have just one or two paragraphs describing what you're meant to do!!

I'm glad that SI have taken the step to actually check Sign Ups/Challenges before issuing them onto the board. There are TOO many samey ones out there at the moment.

This forum was created to remove this stuff from the main forum. It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things if there is a lot of crap threads as they will either be closed or drop down the forum list.

I like challenges as at least they promote the playing of the game but a lot of the time the sign-up threads just seem to promote drivel and "+1" posts so that people can boost their precious post count (I don't know why as it means nothing)
