A few games in, i am using the tactics i have used in the past which is a quite defensive 4-4-2 diamond geared towards nicking the odd goal.
Its a struggle so far, i just lost at home to walsall for gods sake, am 4th after about 8 games. Got Benoit Costil and a swedish defender coming in at xmas for under 50k other then that only got a couple of loans from less the glamorous clubs and have signed 40 yr old rob lee on a free.
I have got hamilton academicals as a feeder club and west ham are my parent club but sheringham wouldnt come on loan the twat!

Played 14 league games now and we sit top by 6 points. After losing 1 and drawing 2 of my first 4 games we finally "clicked" and started to win some games. Fowler is top scorer with 11 goals in 13 games, whilst Hobbs, Antwi and Anderson are all improving no end. I have a plethora of top clubs after them but so far have managed to hang onto them (thank god for transfer windows )
We are building a nice bit of money in the bank after getting 15000 gates each week, so by the start of next season I should get some serious cash to spend. My summer signings were based around experience as Alex Russell arrived for 10k from Bournmouth (I think) and Jamie Victory arrived for 24k from Cheltenham. Also picked up Diawara (brother of the charlton one) on a bosman so we have a few old heads in amongst the kids. However, the pressure is still on for my young guns to carry on their good form. Some of these players will be the back bone of my squad for years to come.
Also went out of the league cup early to Port Vale |

Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Sheffield United and Watford all enquired about Jack Hobbs - I've put a £1m price tag on his head.
Only looking to bring in a few players on loan to add some experience as the squad's average age is 19. Maybe a couple of free transfers too.
Btw Jep, did you decrease stats of some of the players (Hobbs, Antwi etc.) as they seem to be alot worse than in the SI database. Of course I can't blame you if you did as it's a lower league an' all but just wondering.
Oh and I offered contracts to Sinama Pongolle and Stevie Gerrard. They rejected me for the money the bastards |

I didn't touch the stats for any of the younger players LSTB, the only changes I made was to lower Anderson's current ability to 100 from 125, and increase Fowlers influence and determination stats to make him an ideal captain. It gives him the deserved Iconic status he would have within the squad

I don't know if this will be frowned upon but having got my squad how i wanted it, I set my tactics and went on holiday leaving assistant with strict instructions regarding tactics selection.
Any way at the end of season 1 I have been comfortably been promoted and finished 2nd. Due to my gates I have 4 million in the bank and a 1.2million kitty for season two. Going to do this one properly. Its just i hate league 2!!!

No worries - your choice to play the game how you like. I thought that might happen for the start of the 2nd season, you should have enough cash to start getting some decent players in now, plus your youngsters have a year of experience under their belts.

| Ah right. Fair enough.
And yeah, made Fowler my skipper immediately, but it's Anderson getting the goals atm - 2 in 2 in friendlies.
And I brought in some 20 year-old Icelandic player from Celtic called Kjartan Henry Finnbogason - he's a striker with good all-round stats imo and will be partnering Fowler with Lindfield and Pringle as back-ups.
Got Middlesbrough as a Parent club.
