07/10/06 - News Update
Another 5 matches and Hobart are still going strong, although a few matches we were on the back foot most of the time but we've managed to hold on to our unbeaten start to the season.
More Internationals disrupted the squad and for one match we only had 14 available players and were forced to bring in one of our non-contracted (greyed) players.
Couple of interesting developments with regards to outside relationships - both the Queensland coach Frank Farina and Adelaide coach John Kosmina have voiced dislike for our management and team's chances of success. The comments between Hobart's Scott Milne and Farina escalating and becoming very 'Mourinho vs Ferguson' like!.
Basically, the club has unanimously decided that he's a tool - many of the squad agreeing with Milne's comments and not one player in disagreement.
Melbourne Victory - A-League
Victory had the upper hand for most of this match, if not for the width of our posts and a virtuoso man-of-the-match display from goalkeeper C.Betts, we would've been slaughtered.

It was prior to this match that Farina began what will no doubt continue to be a long war of words between the 2 sets of management. This added extra spice to this match.

Given the inordinate number of injuries being caused in the weights room, as of now, management has reduced the amount of strength training at the club.

Another case of opposition management trying to unsettle the team with comments to the press, although not as nasty or hot-blooded as with F.Farina.
This was the match where we struggled to come up with numbers!

The team came through without any more injuries and now have what should be an easy match versus Essendon in which some players can regain some match fitness.
