On with the next batch of league games.

Stunning victory away to Udinese, well backed up by another strong win against Sampdoria before I drew to the relegation rivals Siena and lost to another relegation threatened team in Ascoli. Another fantastic victory against Chievo before I was unlucky against Palermo and awful against Lazio. Then the 1-0 loss to AC Milan where I could easily have had a point, maybe three, if it weren't for a Kaka piledriver.

Need to sort out the Jekel and Hyde nature of my team. Totally overlooking the loan market pre-season was a mistake but the January window isn't far away now. I'm on -1 points. Soon time for the party.

Decided to press on with the poor coding attempts. Yet again we see my inconsistencies. I eventually got overly mad after the Parma game which was a particularly ridiculous performance and fined everyone who took part in the match 2 weeks wages. It lead to me being on the brink of the sack but I survived, just. I lost to Torino afterwards due to 3 defensive mistakes and utterly dominated Fiorentina in that loss so things have picked up performance wise. I finally saw a definite effect of player interaction as I totally lambasted Tedesco in the media, he promptly put in a 9 and a 10 and the commentary was "He's trying to prove his manager wrong!"

A quiet transfer window for me in terms of immediate signings, but what with it being bosman season I attempted to capitalise.

and my capitalisation on the bosman market wasn't quite as planned due to nobody actually wanting to join the club but I still managed to persuade Stefano Fiore and Geoffrey Jourdren that it was a good idea.

I still sit rooted to the bottom of the table with 12 points now. 7 from safety. This is a struggle.

poyplemonkeys hang in there, it's tough but manageable. Just look at the different approaches me and neilez2 take - I win or lose, rarely draw but he tends to be happy to grind out the draw, which seemed to work a bit better.

Try playing Amoruso and make him hold up the ball, he really brings players into the game.

It was all just averageness really, until I played Lazio. No idea what happened but they decided to play a grand total of zero first teamers, perhaps they were still in a cup I didn't think to check, and I rightfully smashed them to pieces, Bianchi grabbing four just a day after I lambasted him in the media. That seemed to send morale rocketing as I struggled past Milan and beat Palermo before finally rising off the bottom with a smashing of Atalanta, which saw me take 18th with Cagliari bottom and Atalanta 19th. With the biggest struggle coming against already doomed to relegation Cagliari I decided they were getting a bit complacent and warned them against it with the team talk, but that saw me finally climb out of the relegation zone and on to 34 points!

With Ashley Crank moaning like a biatch and my assistant manager constantly telling me to sign another English player to help him I just typed English into the search box. Signed a player called Junior English to be transferred in July and my coach was raving about him being a definite purchase so, bonus.

2008 League Table. Had a fantastic 2nd season. Was sitting 3rd at xmas but a few injuries during Jan/Feb ended that short lived Champions League dream. Delighted with European football next year!

European Rankings 2008. I'm sitting pretty heading into European football. Expect to jump into the top 100 next season.

2008 End of season summary. Named as the end of season over achievers! Yee ha!

Golden Boot. Bianchi ended up 3rd in the European Golden Boot.

Goal of the season. I've never won that before! It was a fairly crap goal as well.

Player of the year. Another great season for the clubs talisman.

Top scorer. How many seasons can he keep himself in the top 3? A challenge within a challenge?

Defender of the Year. Another award which was thoroughly deserved.

Well, a busy pre season awaits as I try to strengthen the team for our first European adventure.

With nobody relegated for certain yet and everybody still in the fight the last round of games saw me needing a draw to clinch my Serie A status for next season. A draw I managed to get away to Torino, going a goal down before firing back to take a 2-1 lead. A last minute equaliser for Torino left nerves jangling but I held on for a well deserved draw and survival! End of season table, awards and so on to come.

The 15 point deduction instead of 11 coupled with the fact I required more points to stay up than other people have experienced made this a massive struggle for me. I thought I was doomed at points, particularly when I was still stuck at the bottom of the table with a quarter of the season left. I have received some recognition with my players though.

Reggina's Walter Gaitan has won the Italian Serie A Player of the Year Award and cited me as the reason for his consistent excellence. Walter Gaitan also made the select 11 and Pelizzoli was selected for the bench. Naturally Gaitan continued his award claiming with the Foreign Player of the Year Award and Pelizzoli claimed second in the Goalkeeper of the Year Award.

The awards continued flooding in as Walter Gaitan received the award for signing of the season. Bring on season 2!
