Punished by an 115th minute own goal against Siena, we had gone 1-0 up on the 82nd minute, but our defence then decided to let them back in with an 85th minute equaliser.
Some good performances in the earlier games, Bianchi doing well by grabbing a few goals. Noticeable goal was Sebastian Giovinco's 30 yarder against Pro Vasto.
Brought in a number of signings so far (had all players from Denmark, Sweden and Norway loaded):
Martinez looks a good Columbian prospect, as does Doudin, who I managed to get for cheaper than his contract buy-out price. Bergoldmo will add great experience at the back, and signed several youngsters in Larsson, Giovinco and Polenz.
Also brought in several loans, the important ones being Zeljko Kalac from Milan in goal, and Perico from Malaga to cover across the midfield.

Challenge: Restoring Reggina's Tarnished Reputation In Football Post #16
I've been looking for something new to do outside of England. Looks like the search is over.

PreseasonLucchese 0-0 RegginaPirin-Blagoevgrad 0-3 RegginaNaftex 0-3 RegginaLevski (Sofia) 5-1 RegginaSpal 0-4 Reggina
So a pretty good preseason, if you don't count the Levski drubbing.
Most of my moves were made with an eye to the future. I went with a couple of blasts from the past by signing Doudin and Szetela, who I use when doing the Man U challenge. The signings impact was felt immediately with Szetela, Lustig and Vermeer all going directly into the starting 11, with Morgado, Doudin and Waclawczyk on the pine. Hopefully a couple of the other guys will pan out as well.

Woo hoo!!! Stage 1 complete - survival achieved but it wasn't easy!
]Final table
]Bianchi had a productive season, as did ]Amoruso. I hardly gave Amoruso a chance early on but injuries forced me to play him and I'm glad I did.
Only signing in january was Reto Zanni for £325k from Basel - mainly a bit part player.
Looking foward to season 2.

Transfers In. I managed to get in some cheap young players that will develop and increase in value. Not sure if I can hold onto them all though! After I signed Digard, he is now touted as the next Patrick Vieira!!!
Loans In. With the limited budget available I decided to build the backbone of my team with loanees. Ponce, Simic and Legrottaglie were all immense at the back.
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...ATopScorer.png. Without Bianchi I would have been relegated. To score that number of goals in Serie A is impressive. He's doubled in value this season. Again, it'll be difficult to keep hold of him during the summer transfers.
Serie A Player of the Year. And to top it all off Bianchi was rewarded with the Serie A player of the year award. He also made his International debut and scored against Scotland.
Looking foward to a very busy summer of transfers.
Well done DFJ on your survival.

European Golden Boot. Big Bianchi was unlucky not to win the European Golden Boot award. His value is now over £10milion. He had a lot of interest during the 07-08 pre-season but now has me as a preferred member of staff so decided to stay.
European Striker of the Year. Bianchi gets the recognition he deserves after single handedly keeping Reggina up against the odds in the 06-07 season.
I lost Enyeama during the pre-season to Rangers for £3million. Not a bad fee, considering I signed him the season before for £100k!
Transfers In 07-08. A lot of activity in the summer, my biggest signing is the Brazilian Kerlon, only 19 and looking like a player!
Loans In 07-08. My usual influx of loans signings to bolster my squad.
I started badly losing to the Italian Cup surprise package from C1/A, Reggiana. They have now put out 3 Serie A teams!!!
Lost my first 2 games in Serie A away to Palermo and Chievo.
Keep you posted.

Stunning victory away to Udinese, well backed up by another strong win against Sampdoria before I drew to the relegation rivals Siena and lost to another relegation threatened team in Ascoli. Another fantastic victory against Chievo before I was unlucky against Palermo and awful against Lazio. Then the 1-0 loss to AC Milan where I could easily have had a point, maybe three, if it weren't for a Kaka piledriver.
Need to sort out the Jekel and Hyde nature of my team. Totally overlooking the loan market pre-season was a mistake but the January window isn't far away now. I'm on -1 points. Soon time for the party.
